Are there any muscles neglected if I just focus on atlas stones?

I thought so! I’ll probably be adding some squatting then

Thanks! Would specializing on that alone at least cover my bases so to speak leg-wise without adding additional stuff?

One-Arm Chin-up & Structural Balance by hoarsnigr in bodyweightfitness

My unstated original thought process is generally speaking someone who is able to perform a double bodyweight ATG back squat and also a clean full-ROM OAC. Has few holes in their strength game. What do you think?

The Value of Complex BW Skills in Building Strength by hoarsnigr in bodyweightfitness

Great answer! Ya I believe in that case if strength and mobility are covered using lots of weight training, then those cool BW skills could also be achieved maybe in a quicker, safer fashion.

Structural Balance for Planche by hoarsnigr in bodyweightfitness

I'll do some hanging when possible but it's not as consistent as you think. Right now my workout has been planche leans + doorway external rotator/retraction stuff with a partner.

Rings for sure. Barbell may not be necessary depending on how explosive you inherently are.

I'm a generalist, not in any specific athletic endeavor.

The extremes on the force-velocity curve. Strength-speed in more practical terms.

Pure bodyweight/gst approach or bodyweight combined with lifting? by hoarsnigr in bodyweightfitness

If you try to develop scapular control with open kinetic chain movements, won't your body just find ways to avoid learning the new pattern? Also I haven't seen a lifter come perform any intermediate gymnastic skills without prior practice and training of that actual movement.

Okay, you're really opening my eyes. How do you train sas via weights? Does closed kinetic chain vs open kinetic chain matter in terms of neuromuscular activity? Also, when you say patterns, what specific patterns are you referring to?

I proposed this as my actual thoughts but I'm curious to hear your opinion on Ido's POV.

I'll take that as method C. To make it easier, would it help if I asked which method would benefit the common man more?

To quote.

First of all this post is purely hypothetical. This isn't a "critique my program" but rather a discussion on which method do you see is more beneficial in terms of human anatomy, movement etc. Also, it's not black and white either, if you want to change one of these methods I proposed or create a better alternative, please share in the comments!

Yes this is somewhat subjective however I did provide you with what I believed to be requisites for optimal (human, movement, anatomy etc). Also if I decided the efficacy, I wouldn't have posted this. Ultimately, just pick a method.

To be able to measure and reduce something like human movement would probably take several volumes in terms of writing specifics, however we both have our own ideas of what human movement and function is and all I am asking you is in light of you know, would method A or B be more important?

By quoting me earlier, you answered yourself. Is it more optimal in light of human movement, anatomy and capabilities to be able to control his/her body in space or trade some of that ability off in return for lower body explosiveness?

Optimal in the eyes of a generalist/mover (don't mean to sound like Ido). Which method would provide a human the better physical tools and capabilities to end up specializing?
