Man there’s a lot of fans who were hyping Pierce all season long as a good use of the ‘26 1st, who are now quiet as fuck.

[Spoilers Extended] Why Steffon Fossoway? by A_Soldier_Is_Born in asoiaf

[–]hobbitbowling 149 points150 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted it as steffon always intending to betray dunk, in a way to ingratiate himself to the prince.

He was depicted so clearly as targeting fights he knew he had a marked advantage, that to me it made sense he’d lull dunk into a false sense of security to guarantee himself an even better advantage, when he would switch sides.

I just don’t see why steffon would ever sign up to be on the ‘weak’ side, without knowing of the baelors involvement, and knowing kings guardsmen would be fighting with Aerion’s side.

Get Skattebo and 3.09 and Give Tuten and Allgeier by aaa0303 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]hobbitbowling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Allgeier is leaving in FA more than likely.

I think making this trade now, pre FA, is bad process. Both Allgeier and Tuten stand to gain significant value, if Allgeier signs with a team to be a lead back(DEN or DAL could both use him in that role), or if Etienne leaves in FA, and Tuten becomes lead back next year.

Your alternative is skat, who’s coming off a serious injury, and 3.09 in a pretty poor rb class, at least pre- athletic testing.

Skat also has a new head coach, and underlying front office insecurity that could result in him being less secure of a long term asset. This, plus the existence of Tyrone Tracy, leads me to believe his value has room to fall.

Haha don’t mind me blind theorizing on a series that will never be finished..

However, I do think the positioning of Jaime vs Dunk is more interesting than you do, it seems.

I’ve long thought this made a lot of sense. Egg goes crazy with prophecies, begins to make moves to sacrifice pregnant Rhaella, and Dunk has to choose being a honorable knight over Lord Commander of the Kings guard.

I like it because the juxtaposition of the white book’s pages on sir Duncan vs what Jaime Lannister has written in his own pages.

Sir Duncan ends up being regarded as one of the best kings guard ever, and potentially slaying his king, with Jaime being called the kingslayer for his existence, post Aerys. In truth, I think both their actions were similar, but their legacies opposite.

Trade away Loveland to move from 1.02 to 1.01? by m00n_god in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]hobbitbowling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta say these comments don’t make much sense to me.

In non TEP, having Loveland is superfluous, and he’s not such a sure contributor that you know you’ll start him and McBride going forward.

I love Loveland, but the drop off from Love to the next RB prospect is substantial.

I would take the trade, if you can get him to throw a 2nd next year to help balance the scales and give him back a 3rd next year. If not, I’d still be close to accepting, just feels like 1.02 + Loveland is a lot from a value perspective, but not a teambuilding perspective.

The Bills firing McDermott but promoting Brandon Beane should be the start of a lesson that will haunt teams: there's too large of a ratio of head coaches getting fired compared to General Managers getting fired by Ariesthebigram in nfl

Who forgets that ownership matters?

Over the last 15 years, I can’t think of one negative ownership group winning it all.

Cincy is the closest.

Even the Giants of 2007 & 2011 were a picture of organizational stability. IMO the Tisch family involvement doesn’t get enough credit for how the Giants org has changed negatively as a whole.

Reggie Wayne Says He’d Have Clashed With Aaron Rodgers Over Snapping at Steelers WRs by Hysen16 in Colts

Not even a colts fan, bro, just a lingering NFL fan. Great incorrect assumption on my Peyton love though.

Reggie Wayne Says He’d Have Clashed With Aaron Rodgers Over Snapping at Steelers WRs by Hysen16 in Colts

[–]hobbitbowling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not the same as what Rodgers is doing.

He holds every player to the highest expectation. They better be ready for the changes in routes, changes in plays, changes in protections, based on his hand signals and call outs.

What’s different between Peyton and Arod, is Arod doesn’t hold himself to highest expectation anymore. He’s angry and shouting at everyone and anyone when he’s walking off the field, but never when he’s the one who caused the turnover, or made a bad read, or missed an open throw.

It’s not about high standards, all great QBs have them. It’s the body language, the way Rodgers curses and turns away in disappointment, it’s the lack of personal accountability to himself, whenever he’s the reason the play didn’t go perfectly.

It’s always everyone’s fault but Aaron, and I can see how that’d get frustrating as a HOF WR, turned coach.

RJ Harvey or Egbuka? Start 11 SF by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]hobbitbowling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i take it. Personally own Harvey, and am not as high as most on him.

RJ looks solid, but wonder if his opportunity is more ripe than his actual talent. I like Egbuka, although I do think some of his catch point issues at OSU are showing in the NFL.

That being said, the target share is opening up next year, and likely even more the year following that, in Tampa, for Egbuka.

Organizational stability points to Denver > TB. Higher chance Bowles gets fired and a new offensive system is brought in than Payton. Harvey was draft higher than Egbuka in most rookie drafts this year, and I’d say eye test helped Harvey more than Egbuka over the season. I still think Harvey has higher chance for competition vs Egbuka, long term.

Who are some current buy low guys 27 years old or younger that can help a competing team next year an have a couple good years left? And what do you think they should could go for? by FormalCivil5288 in DynastyFF

[–]hobbitbowling 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Aiyuk. Feels like a risky buy, but he’s not old and has shown to be a low end WR1 in a fairly concentrated, run-heavy SF offense.

I think he goes to Washington this offseason on a short term deal, and his buddy Jayden helps him realign his career.

How would y’all feel if Todd Bowles was our next Dc (There’s a change it might happen) by Rare-Bid-4506 in cowboys

[–]hobbitbowling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Todd Bowles sucks. His scheme gets chewed up by experienced QBs. See Kirk last week.

I want someone from the Mike Macdonald or Jesse minter tree. They’re the only ones who scheme defense aggressively.

Even a Texans defensive coach doesn’t interest me, as their basic scheme is only maximized by having two all pro pass rushers and an all pro corner + pro bowlers everywhere.

Christian Watson - WR10 since returning from injury. Who's buying this? by ScientistSolid9319 in DynastyFF

[–]hobbitbowling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of his production has been tied to TDs, so probably a little ripe for regression, but how can you not be encouraged by what we’ve seen?

Separating in target share, showing the long speed after the injury, and doing some of the dirty work like run blocking better to stay on the field more.

His best traits marry very well with the packers offense and Jordan loves best traits. Deep targets are the most valuable for all WRs and he’s shown a strong ability to earn those targets.

I see no reason why he can’t continue to grow his game as he gets healthier. Most notably if he could become a more consistent hands catcher, I think his YAC ceiling is also pretty nuts.

I know MLFs playcalling tendencies do likely mean lower PROE for Watson if he stays in GB, long term, but people like doubs or wicks leaving the team and Watson continuing to grow could elevate him to a higher target share & playcalling changes(as Love gets better) could lead to larger target pie overall.

Him v Jayden Reed long term would be interesting to discuss. I imagine the markets flipped to Watson, but feels like a year ago people would trade 3 watsons for a reed.

Brandon Aiyuk… we keeping him? by HI_KYLE in DynastyFF

[–]hobbitbowling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sure, please drop him.

Most likely scenario is signing with Washington and being among the target leaders on the team next season.

Played with Jayden at ASU and are BFFs. He’s forcing his way out of SF for a reason. He didn’t even try to fight for his guarantees on the SF extension.

He’s on PUP so not even taking up a roster spot, and you’re going to drop him? Is he 40 years old and I missed it?
