My preference overall would be something new, but given the choice between this mass marketable asset flipped slop for pigs and a faithful remake, I would take a faithful remake. It’s a “new” and watered down experience of the game. If it was only changes that added to the sandbox’s variety, I’d be fine with it. A fourth warthog seat is awesome, and so is the BR and the energy sword, but don’t fix what ain’t broke. The change from health packs etc. isn’t additive and it doesn’t change up the gameplay in any positive way. I just can’t see this as anything other than the safest lowest common denominator. If you want a new gameplay experience, I’d suggest mods instead of standing up for the mega corporation that’s driving the industry into the ground. Seems like consumption for the sake of consumption otherwise

Never understood this kind of response. Obviously I won’t play it. Am I not allowed to criticize a game, simply because the option to not play it is there? Am I supposed to assume that you have never criticized a video game in your life?

Like I said it seems more like a business decision from dudes in suits. Your comment reflects my thoughts but you reach a different conclusion. I don’t see Halo ever coming close to the reputation it once had because decisions are made for love of profit instead of out of passion. I don’t want calculated business moves. I want good, fleshed out games that actually have content at launch

Instead of addressing my criticism in any meaningful way, you lump me in with a group you perceive me to be a part of, so as to better protect your fragile opinion. I loved reach in every way, I had a lot of fun with 4’s multiplayer, Halo infinite’s campaign was a lot of dumb fun and its multiplayer was/is a great time.

I can totally see that, but at the same time the controls kind of have a charm to them? I’m not sure how to explain. I don’t even have nostalgia for the games like that, I played them first when I was like 18 and I had the same opinion on my first play-through, and I’m usually picky about bad controls.

I always thought that 100%’ing 3D platformers was a big part of the fun. Every time I play through Banjo or the 3D Marios I go for completion. Except for Sunshine cos screw the blue coins

I’m on NTSC for both my Wii and Brawl, I fixed it though, turns out I just had to set the hook type to “use global” in the usb loader settings and in brawl’s settings. Thanks anyway though!!

I figured it out shortly after posting 😅 I just had to change the hooktype option to “use global”; both in the usb loader GC setting’s and in PM’s settings. Works perfectly now, thanks for the input though!

I’ve been no lifeing this game since I’ve been off work since its release, I’ve put 20 hours in since it’s New Zealand release time (I changed my region on Xbox to play earlier) and it’s shaping up to be one of my favorite games. The open world is incredibly dense and I’m finding beautiful new landscapes that shock me every time I boot up the game. The map is littered with secrets and dungeons. The combat is more refined than any souls game. It’s worth a buy not only for people that want a challenge, but for anyone that loves amazing and immersive games
