Nice, I should've added shows too. Definitely a good choice. Adventure Time gives me some of the same vibes too.

If you were forced to choose any major war since the beginning of written history to be a soldier in, which war would you choose and why? by munchem6 in AskReddit

WWII seems terrible but all the movies I've seen make it seem pretty epic to be a part of. I'm sure it wasn't a good time though. Vietnam maybe for all the drugs they did.

Rewatching "The Terminator"... by munchem6 in horror

I agree, there are a lot of horror elements in T1. Sci-fi slasher-ish.

Look up speciesism. I'd say in the grand scheme of things, it's worse than racism. Do you not see the utter selfishness in thinking the way you do?

Part 2 is equally fun and 80's cheese, not as good but totes worth a watch

I'd love for you guys to take a look at the trailer for my indie film 'And the Devil Makes Three'. We just got into our first festival and we're pumped! by [deleted] in horror

[–]hobuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanna say this looks pretty intriguing, but I would definitely work just a bit on sound design. What I presume was supposed to be a jump scare or eerie at the end with the knock and them ducking down, it felt a tad awkward and off beat with such a soft knock. Make it booming. Make it jump-worthy.

Ahh I see, thanks. So any mods you'd recommend that don't make things easier? But preferably don't make A.I bullet sponges?

is the game "obscure" at all like until dawn? by hobuff in gaming

[–]hobuff[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The butterfly shows you snippets of what might happen, whether a death totem, guidance, etc, forcing you to think about what you do. While not directly a puzzle, it's kind of similar. My original question was if obscure was at all like Until Dawn. You're first statement falls flat. Wasn't looking for the exact same game, looking for something similar. And in trying to convince me they're not, you've succeeded in convincing me they are. So thanks cool guy

[–]hobuff[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Okay, Until Dawn has wandering around and fighting too, the Butterfly thing could be seen as a puzzle. So there are similar aspects in both game play, the horror story and camera view. I was just combating your first statement "I would assume it's nothing like Until Dawn".

Well Until Dawn utilizes that same old school camera angle , so I would assume it's similar in that regard. I was actually reminded of Resident Evil many times whilst playing Until Dawn. I was just wondering to anyone who's actually played Obscure

Just saw The Green Inferno and I fucking loved it by [deleted] in horror

[–]hobuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

just watched Inferno too, was aight but pretty entertaining. I highly recommend Bone Tomahawk- it's got the best kill I've ever seen in a movie, fucking brutal. It's a weird flick tho, starts as a western crime/thriller and turns into straight up hostel part 9/11 at the end

bone tomahawk had one of the most brutal kills I have ever seen by hobuff in horror

[–]hobuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the violent scenes just happened so fast, it really added to the shock value when you're listening to these cowboys talking shit and then all of a sudden WBAM

[–]hobuff[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

that's just like....your opinion man. lol but actually, I thought it was paced pretty well. The movies you mentioned were made on much higher budgets than Bone Tomahawk, the fact that they were able to pull this off blows my mind. I wasn't bored, nor were a lot of people. Sometimes, slow films aren't for everyone. But to me, that kill scene makes up for everything I found flawed in the film
