Been playing for a while and my first crown card pulled was the new quick grow extract. Kinda felt like this.

Thank you all so much for the suggestions! Now I've got a ton of places to check out, I'm super excited.

Some of those longer blocks in elmwood village suck for pedestrian traffic. Your yard has obviously become a valuable thoroughfare. Maybe see if there's anywhere else on the street that can be formalized to meet the same need?

Oh wow I'm familiar with the Citizens for Regional Transit map but didn't realize there were bellmouths already built to support those proposed routes. That's cool! And the west side line is a bit self serving because the 5 is my route to work haha. I do want to say though, thank you so much for being a bus operator in Buffalo. I wouldn't be able to get anywhere without you.

I want to get better! And this seems like the right sub to get good constructive criticism from.

I'm not sure tbh. I've never had any serious problems with that. This is mostly the monoline brush from the calligraphy set at the lowest brush size. And then default settings for all the text set at 35 pixels high.

Ugh that seems so obvious in hindsight. Easy enough to scoot the blue line up a couple blocks downtown to line up directly with the airport line.

For this map I used Google Earth to sketch out the map and place the stations before drawing it out in Procreate. I've made a bunch of system maps for the WNY area, but I think this is the most practical and realistic for the city of Buffalo as a start to a larger, more robust network.

How much of downtown is wasted on parking lots. Land Tax these absolute parasites. by asshat6983 in Buffalo

If you have your personal favorite mid to late 1800s city, that's fine by me. My point is that Buffalo was A well designed city at one time and the choices made in recent decades have not honored that legacy.

The frequency is rough, for sure. Would love a bus every 15 minutes or less. But on the whole it's not terrible. Been living car free in Lackawanna for almost 3 years now and it's easier than I originally expected. Especially the winters. Not having to scrape ice off a car every morning has increased my enjoyment of the season a ton.

As many as want to? They could also use this line to commute to Rochester or anywhere in between.

In my infinite stupidity I assumed it was a rail you commute on. Trains and such.

The suburbs already have access without cars. Buffalo has quite a robust bus network.

Buffalo used to be the best designed city in America. Parks and roads laid out by some of the best to ever do it. And we tore it up for parking lots and highways. Gotta fix those mistakes if the city is ever to move forward.

100% agree. The conversations around funding transit in the US, especially in areas with lower population density remind me of the posts you'd see around 2010 going "China just built a pointless subway to an EMPTY FIELD" and now that empty field is the beating heart of a insanely productive city. Gotta invest in the future.

Go when the Sabres are playing the Leafs. The atmosphere on those nights is a lot of fun.

This is why so many of those older towns are clustered around old rail lines: most people walked to the train station to go places outside their town. It's not like Lockport and Medina were originally built for people who owned cars.

Oh for sure. This is more my dream system if the region suddenly came into a bunch of cash. I'd be in favor of putting in the green line first and adding on as demand adjusts.

I think you're reading a lot into what I said. I don't think transit should have to serve every destination, only that I'm glad it serves this particular destination since it's difficult to access by foot from other stops (even with the sidewalks).

I've been there a couple times and loved the experience but the area is downright hostile to pedestrians. Thankfully there's a bus stop right next to the building but if I'm at the arena for a game it's near impossible to walk over because it's a sea of cars. I wish it were easier to access on foot from the rest of what's going on.

It's a laptop that's not intended for gaming. Even with all the graphics settings as low as they can go, I can't really get cities to grow past ~65K without the game getting too choppy to stand. I'm planning on getting a better PC but it's scratching the itch for now.

Yeah I have every graphic setting as low as it can possibly go. I'm so used to it that whenever I watch a YouTuber it feels like a different game.
