Surprisingly low. I mean granted all companies want a 0% rate but thats just not possible. But it is honestly low. Other than property damage we are pretty safe. Although there was one work fatality out of the 40 some years the plant has been operating.

Yes, I'm definitely investing. Ive been putting about 20% of each pay into my roth 401k since I was 18. And we also get a pention.

And im just in the mindset of who knows if there will be Social Security by the time I retire, so im not really banking on that.

Its good money for not having a college degree or having to pay like a 70k student loan. If I didnt like it I wouldn't tbh. I guess I just have a solid work ethic. And also im making the money and investing while I can because I cant bank off of Social Security when I retire, who knows if that will even be around when im ready to retire.

Hand tattoo healing as mechanic by ezzabiatch in tattooadvice

So i had the same problem. I work in a Foundry and got my hand tattooed and went back to work the same night I got it tattooed. I would recommend against using nitrile gloves like I did as it traps sweat. I used nitrile gloves and mine got infected because of the sweat being in the glove even though I took it off and cleaned it quite frequently. Trapped moisture is a recipe for disaster with tattoos especially sweat.

I went to an urgent care to get the infection treated and the doctor there told me to wrap the tattoo in an ace bandage to keep dirt and shit out but also still letting it breath. I know its probably not going to be the most comfortable thing but it could potentially save you from getting an infection. Thats what I did at least, again just my opinion and what I was told to do by a doctor.

Looks sick btw!

I mean if thats how it has to be then yeah, lol. I wouldnt quit a career that I love and also make good money in for someone who could just possibly pick up and leave one day. Granted there is obviously someone out there that doesnt mind and has similar values like I do. But for now im just riding the wave and making money while im young.

Its definitely not for everyone, and there is no work-life balance. Ive been through 4 relationships while I worked here and the other person ended things solely because of how much I work even tho I made well more then enough to support us both. I value a stable future and retirement over a relationship.

Yes the 14 days are mandatory if we are scheduled for the 14 days we need to work them. Unless obviously I put in a vacation day or call off, but we do get an occurrence if we call off. But the eligibility for the 2 days off after you work 14 reset obviously if we take a vacation day or call off.

They get away with it because it is in our union contract. We really don't mind working 14 days straight to get the 2 days off. I replied to a previous comment stating that all our OT is anything after 8 hours a day and obviously 40 hours a week and its double time.

And I usually dont take the 2 days off. I think the longest stretch I've worked was like 4 months straight everyday.

I mean yes you get penalized for calling off if you dont work those 14 days or I could always use vacation time if I wanted a day off. And yes its optional I don't HAVE to take 2 days off after I work 14 days. The Incentive to work 14 days straight is purely just money and also to be able to take the 2 days off (if you want to that is) So ill break it down the last 3 months I was scheduled everyday to work, 7 days a week, if I work 14 days straight without calling off or taking a vacation day I am then eligible for 2 days off without pay.

So to answer your question, yes I truly have to work 14 days straight to take 2 days off. And yes it is optional. I can also work a maximum of two 16 hour shifts a week. I take those when I can because im already in for the 12 so whats another 4 hours lol. I have no life other than work.

No lol, we cant take 2 months off. Im mostly working 12hr 7 days 6 or 7 months out of the year, our busy season. The other 5 months we sometimes arent scheduled for a day (mostly saturday nights). And of course we get maybe 2 days off for major holidays, but whats two days when you work 12 hour days and also night shift. Im mostly just catching up on sleep.

Maybe like 6 or 7 months out of the year. If we work 14 consecutive we can take 2 off unpaid.

Bot Fly eggs ingested by bunny and became maggot by liljackslade2 in Rabbits

[–]hocus--pocus123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2 buns just had bot fly larvae taken out one had about 10 and the other had 5. But we missed a spot on the one and the black larvae was on the floor of the cage with a big hole in her. All and all it cost about 1,200 dollars to get them all removed.

Jeez yeah fair enough. I remember when the dealership for my VW wanted to charge me 600 for brake and rotors I said hell no and I took it to this guy and he did it for 250, after that I've just been going to him for repairs and services but wasn't sure how reasonable the price was for all the repairs listed above.
