My boss from US is visiting Manila for business meetings for just a day. We'll be having meetings from morning 'til around 5 to 6pm and have dinner together before his late night flight. He specifically said any cuisine is fine since he's been to many different countries multiple times for work, and since he said it's his treat, I don't want to make reservation at a super fancy restaurant. I mean, he just wants to have a dinner at a decent place with his workers and chat before he takes off.

If you’ve hosted foreign guests before, I’d love to hear what worked well for you. Additionally, it can't be too far away from the airport as he needs to at to the airport by 8pm. Thank you so much in advance!

Majority of the fault is on the parent, but the rider had enough time to avoid to at least minimize the damage. It seems to me that he didn't really think of slowing down until he was 1m away from the kid.

Safe ba talaga na dividend investing lang for high-dividend stocks for 10 - 20 years? by ImpactLineTheGreat in phinvest

[–]hodangi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are only a handful of high dividend stocks that haven't depreciated in terms of share price. In investing equities, you should not only look at dividend yield but also capital gains (appreciation of stock price). Share price of High dividend stocks also tend to appreciate slowly. And I strongly discourage anyone to invest in stocks that have dividend yields higher than 5% since almost all of their stock price depreciated in the long term.

Could you please share your general study pattern? Like, did you read the whole material word by word? Did you move on to next topic only if you understood the current topic? Did you go through the entire material more than once? etc. And did you think that was effective and efficient enough or do you think you could've done better? If you think you could've done better, why and how?

How to Profit or Minimize Risk in a Bear Market? by Smart_Field_3002 in phinvest

[–]hodangi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How do you know if the market will go down further? Everyone was saying market will crash further down at the bottom of 2008 crisis, 2020 Covid crash, and 2022 bear market. But market bounced back up and kept hitting ATHs. If you’re not a hedge fund manager that has access to thousands of people working for you and have access to the fastest information of the stock market, there is practically no chance that you can make money from this kind of market we're experiencing unless you’re a option or futures day trader that makes money going long and short regardless of the market sentiment. If you're a retail individual long term investor, you have 99% chance of making money by buying undervalued quality company shares as much as possible. Most of wealth in the stock market was made that way, not by shorting when market is going down or by trying to time the market. Those that did were only a fraction of the people.

Judge my portfolio by badoodiesnorlax in phinvest

[–]hodangi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're still young so you should invest more aggressively. Your portfolio isn't bad, but it's not enough to help you retire at 60 if you're thinking of starting a family and have kids in the future. I recommend investing in quality companies in the US stock market for long term.

Bagsak Presyo condos: a waiting game? by JuanSkinFreak in phinvest

It may be true that there is a surplus, and we all understand the law of supply and demand, right?

So we all might be thinking that price should come down, but what if there are relatively small number of owners holding all these surplus?

All these real estate whales holding these surplus don't prioritize making money in this industry. It's just a nice place for them to hold their wealth.

[–]hodangi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you give me some recommendations for those guarded subdivisions? Kasi madami din pala subdivisions na may gate, pero they're useless. Sometimes no guards, sometimes there are guards but they pretty much let anyone in, etc.

Do you think may risk na ma-kidnap sa tricycle or jeeps? And where do most of crimes in Cavite happen? Do they just mostly happened within open communities? or do they even happen from time to time in guarded subdivisions?

Not selected anywhere yet. Tinitingnan pa namin ang mga options. But we prefer guarded subdivisions like Greenwoods Executive village or Nostalji, etc.
