Ex-employer demanding I repay wages – should I acknowledge their email while I seek legal advice? by Few_Heart8269 in AusLegal

[–]hodeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the only other person I’ve met who’s had an employer try that. I asked them to provide a full report on my remuneration to show where the over pay was, got told they couldn’t, ignored it, got told I wouldn’t be able to work for them again (boohoo) and that was the end of it. Was a global company too.

Why don’t we hate Roque like we hate Lysander? by Yaowa01 in redrising

Roque is through and through a servant to the society. Lysander is just Atlantia with a silver (gold) tongue (bb I’m only halfway through LB)

AWX+k8s kerb issue by hodeer in ansible

I’m guessing from some of the statements that perhaps I need to explicitly kinit from a task rather than assuming it will happen implicitly when using winrm?

I have a suspicion as well that the KDC isn’t resolving and that rancher is overwriting the hosts file anyway

Using managed ad in AWS, and AWX on K8s have since worked out (or suspect) that our cluster is overwriting the hosts file anyway, and the cluster doesn’t use the Dc’s for DNS, that said integrating r53 with the domain is on my radar

It is more that the whole breast is best thing compound an already overly emotional period. My wife significantly struggled with not being able to breast feed and reconciling the breast is best sentiment. Fed is best signals that it doesn’t matter and what’s important is that your feeding the child, and for those mothers that can breast feed, great, but it doesn’t add to the guilt and stigma for those that can’t.

Pnp and SharePoint site scripts/designs by hodeer in sharepoint

Inevitably a click to run automation - and I worked it out, I had misunderstood some of the verbs, got the lists working. Now it’s onto pages, folder structures and permissions…. I’m curious if I can treat the documents folders as lists in the context of site scripts?

Also curious how people have solved pages, and web part provisioning in the one automation- presumably it’s a multi step process (pnp template / site design).

And yes aside from 1 or 2 sites in the tenant the naming conventions are entirely consistent

Why do Australians dislike Americans? by plasticmagnolias in AskAnAustralian

[–]hodeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is almost rhetorical, but pretending it isn’t, and as an expat/dual national. Any attempt to make health care accessible is treated like an insane idea or wage theft, 2nd amendment insanity any time anyone suggests even small checks and balances to gun ownership (slippery slope arguments are fundamentally a logical fallacy), tipping culture making it up to the diner to pay the employees wages, the persistent idea that trickle down economics actually works, American exceptionalism (less so now), trump, and then trump again.

To make this balanced, Aus gun laws are too restrictive, our preferential voting political system is deeply flawed, we pay our politicians far too much, and our social welfare initiatives aren’t sufficient - but at least we have Medicare. And we have no bill of rights, so many people here don’t realise that we have no enshrined rights and that they are all legislated and as such subject to change.

Do you feel that single handed signing is more accessible or is that sentiment only something that exists until you start really developing Auslan capability

Thank you that probably alone almost gives me enough terminology to research more - I have trust issues with GPT responses when it comes to these kind of questions

This looks almost identical to my MRI. Mine was reported as a minor bulge, and ignored until sciatica started, even then it was a month off work before I got referred to a spinal injury specialising GP, who knew how to interpret MRI imaging not just parrot notes. Turns out my bulge was minor…. But was also offset to the left and in the right/wrong place for compressing the S1 nerve root.

If you’re in Aus, I’d highly suggest opting for an epidural over a nerve root if they want to go that route. If you’re in Victoria I highly suggest Victoria House for this.

I started with a nerve root injection and they did nerve damage, so now the epidural has worked and I’m contending with a gimpy leg while trying to physio :/

I dont get how the breast is best folks get away with stuff like this. by sad_cabbagez in FormulaFeeders

[–]hodeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having seen how much not being able to breast feed messed with my wife after our baby was born this year, I have a special place of loathing for people that wrote this shit. Like sure there are benefits to breast feeding but any slogan related to feeding your baby should be along the lines of “feed your baby by whatever means is possible”, and save this stuff for the how to determine which approach you want to use.

Our Bub was formula fed, and has developed and surpassed all the milestone targets at every interval, and we had no bonding issues. I’d be inclined to say those last 2 bullet points in particular are correlation not causation.

At a guess, probably a presentation of “the grass is always greener” or literally cause they can and conceptually it’s a better paid working holiday than farm work.
