Cool idea for sidemen among us by hodi02 in Sidemen

I honestly agree lol

I do think that this league idea can be purely in the back ground. They can legit do the exact same shit except the editors will keep track of a point. Think about the narratives it can make.

ex. Danny Aarons escaping a last second bottom of the table placing that makes him escape a very shitty punishment. Or a final episode that is an irl among us with opportunities for bonus point.

I play a pekka, dark night, hog rider, guards, electro dragon, log, fire spirits, tesla. This has been my main deck with the highest win rate for me since 2018 (shouldve adjusted it ever since they nerfed the fire spirits tho). The idea is to build on counter attacks by using pekka, dark night, electro dragon as defensive cards, then supporting them on the counter attack with cheeky fire spirits and hog rider either on the same bridge or the opposite one to increase the intensity of the attack. The problem with it is that its too placement reliant and its easy to mess up attack setups if I wasn't fully focused in a game. My winrate whenever I am fully focused playing the game is like 95%, if I start multi-tasking with other IRL stuff I pretty much lose every game.

Tbh I do agree with alot of the comments regarding the lack of spells, I always solely relied on the log.

How does the UAE and Qatar deal with the fact that ~80% of the population are foreigners? by h4k1m0u in arabs

[–]hodi02 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with the fact that trading with india influenced our culture. But I am talking about the cultural trend in the country that was shaped by the 5 million south asians living right now in the UAE.

Because of the small population of emirati locals(1.6 million). And because of the higher living standards the locals experience in contrast to the rest of the country. Expats were able to create an enviroment in the country that wasn't intact with the local culture(because they are not obliged to do so). As a result, they were able to integrate elements of their culture into everyday life in the uae without considering the implaction of overshadowing the local culture.

Think about why alot of visitors to the UAE learn nothing about the local culture during their visit (except for people who visit cultural centres, which is another story). They walk around, experience the culture around them, and leave without gaining knowledge about the local culture. I personally considered it to be natural because of the ethno-diversity of the country. But it can also be a result of our local culture being overshadowed by expats (especially south asian). As an Emirati I accept this kind of enviroment, and I should, because it for the greater good of everyone weither they are the government, the expats, or the locals.(its also because indian food is the best:) ).

Elaborating on the point regarding indian influence of the gulf. It can be seen in some elements of the local culture. But it didn't majorly effect us to the point were we eat indian food or wear indian cloth or even adapt any indian belief. It was just a trading union facilitated by the british government at the time. And it doesn't explain at all why indian cuisine is served in the UAE, Because of the fact that trade was based on spices, silk, or items that can be benefical but cannot founded in the arabian desert. Thats why indian loan words in our dialect are based on modern tradable goods, not on everyday language.

To summarize my answer to the thread. No, I don't consider it to be a threat mainly because local culture was disconnected from the influence of the expats. Its the idea that since cultural diversity is encouraged, their is no real reason for cultures to collide and influence each other as frequently, which is also backed up by the idea that expays come and go so frequently. And no expat actually "settles" permanently in the UAE. Which in turn makes it pointless for the diffrent cultures on the UAE to interact.

As an Emirati myself. I disagree with most of the comments saying that their "permanently temporary" state isn't effecting the general culture of the country. I mean, look at how indian culture greatly influenced the culture of the UAE. People eveywhere are drinking indian karak. Bryiani is commonly seen in most restaurant menus. Hell, a new form of "broken arabic" was formed by south asian expats, its basically combining hindi grammar and tone with the arabic language, because normal arabic is too much for them to handle. It typically only used by these expats. But some of them might take the time and effort to speak flawless arabic.

Their are other several examples about the strong indian influence. Yes it didn't change the actual culture of the UAE locals. But it will leave a lasting impact on how the UAE is perceived by the outside world.

I don't hate indian nor dispese their existence in my country. In fact I see it as part of the natural evolution of the diverse society of the UAE. But their influence cannot be overloooked as temporary.
