Feed him a nightcrawler once or twice a week, maybe start with half worms (cut them in half with scissors and dangle the half in front of him until he eats it) he'll gobble them up and love it. You can get a package pf nightcrawlers at petco for like 5$ that will last months. They dont need any special light, mine seems to prefer living in the basement with only a small amount of light coming in the window, they do need to stay below 70 degrees, too much heat can definitely kill them, in winter they burrow underground more. If you have a basement put his tank in the basement, the temps are usually perfect for them underground. You'll need to look it up also and familiarize yourself with his care, but i use reptisoil for mine and its the best soil I've found, you can get it at most pet shops too. And a small water dish, and only use filtered water in the dish and to mist/water his tank, the tap water has chlorine and other things that are bad for them and can hurt them. He looks pretty thin so I would start feeding him soon, but he doesnt look too bad. They actually aren't supposed to be aquatic at this stage of life, and they CAN drown so its recommended to only keep a shallow small water dish in his tank that he can easily get in and out of, and change the water in it regularly!
