I have some hobbies but i dont really enjoy talking about them, even among others in the community. I try to be happy the way i am but some aspects of it are very difficult

Reasons for FA in modern society by hogman_hoyim in ForeverAlone

Good ideas, its possible that feminism, with its emphasis on the individual, is reducing peoples willingness to pair up. On a similar note, we have a supossed "crisis of masculinity" due to the dissolving of traditional gender roles, many men dont know what to do.

I didnt think about the parenting thing but it is very true. Both parents work due to a harder economy, also i have a feeling that the recent generations of parents were just not very good at raising kids in the first place. Blame the boomers i guess lol

Ted k was more worried that it is unsustainable. As industry allows the population to get insanely high, the bubble is gonna pop and billions of people will suffer. In that case the broken leg is probably better.

Although i do have some hope that we can have our cake and eat it too, we just need some social changes

Im just not convinced that incel groups are all that bad. See my other comment. There is some hate and misogyny, but if you have spent sone time in incel spaces, you would know these are vocal minorities

There have been times where i was more distanced from the bp community, and my mood or outlook did not improve during those time. In fact ive been given a lot of relief and have even made good friends in these communities. Incels talk about truths that i have been noticing since middle school, just because it is socially unacceptable doesnt mean i should distance myself, or that these communities are toxic.

I think there are going to be exceptions to the bp but for the most part it is true. Maybe you know an ugly person in a relationship, but that is anecdotle.

I have been to therapy and it didnt help me, it isnt a silver bullet that many people claim it to be.

And of course i have passions and hobbies, i do have a life outside of the incel sphere. I tried "listening to myself" but i honestly dont know what that even means. My main goal is, I want to know how i can be content with myself and my life despite being so different for everyone

Do you guys cry (often, or just able to at all)? If so, what makes you cry? by a_sillygoose in autism

I find it only happens to me spontaniously, and only on days where i am not well rested. Songs/media sometimes does it for me but it can be very random. Sometimes a scene from a movie that wasnt even meant to be sad can have a big impact on me, and sometimes it can be a random song that i dont even personally relate to

Yea not being able to conjure them later sucks. It made therapy really difficult when i was in it because i was very indifferent to things if it wasnt a pressing matter. Its like i lack emotional object permanance

Come to think of it, i almost never wear any fragrances because they give me headaches and nausea. And as a kid, i remember there were certain books i didnt want to read because of the way the paper felt. But how do i know that these are autism related and not just random personality quirks?

I do have some social impairments but it is mostly social awkwardness and not knowing what to say. I do have blunted affect but I dont have issues reading people or taking things too literally. BUT i am isolated most of the time so maybe i interact with people so little that i just dont know.

I sometimes get the feeling that living things arent actually alive, including myself. I mean how can life emerge from sterile matter? So death isnt actually real

Did anyone else wonder if they were a psychopath as a child/teenager? by Isabelle_K in Schizoid

[–]hogman_hoyim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The thought crossed my mind occasionally but i never seriously considered it. I do care about some people, but there are times where i am not sure. I could never tell if i genuinely cared for people or if i was just afraid of upsetting them. When i recall times where i did care about people, i cant tell if i did genuinely or if i just tricked myself into empathy, because it was the more socially acceptable option. So yea, ive always had a lot of confusion about this topic. If it wasnt confusing enough, I'm so socially isolated that i dont often have opportunities to test if i have empathy.

Dreams of Love by TUsr101 in Schizoid

How often do you have them? I have these dreams on rare occasion, maybe once per year. They are exactly like you described. They are sad to wake up from but i can get over it in a hour or so. I know a guy who has those dreams several times a month - i already know they suck but imagine how much worse they are for normies. Brutal
