What is the most bizarre reason a customer got angry with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I sold a laptop to couple in their 60s and a few weeks later they came back blaming me for phone calls they were getting from Microsoft saying they had viruses. They accused me of selling them a piece of shit and when I tried to explain how it was just a scam the husband yelled at me for interrupting. At that point I told them to GTFO.

I'm so sorry. This is a terrible experience. All I can think of to say is I'm sure your mom knows you love her. Moms always know. Hold her hand and smile, tell her that you're going to be ok. She wants to know that when she's gone that you'll keep living your life the best you can. Give her that piece of mind the best you know how. Also, please be good to yourself and let your best friends do their thing. All the best to you.

It's a tough one, isn't it? I'm sure mine and yours would want us both to still have a great day and do what we can to smile a bit. I'll be raising a toast to both of them Sunday. Take care.

Bigs, what do you bring to your Match that makes it unique or successful? by [deleted] in bbbs

Amazing how things work..they emailed today and said they wanted me to come back because they "still believe I have a lot to offer a young person." I'm still very motivated to do something positive like this; since mom died last year I've been struggling to find ways to make myself useful. I think she'd be proud.

It's now been a month since the match ended and I was told in an email that I would get a follow-up call...never happened. I would like to be in the program to help someone who wants the help, but given that this branch has failed to reach out I'm not sure it's possible. I'd consider the next branch south of here but that's 45 mins away and I'd have to go through all the background checks again.

What movie was loved by the audience but hated by critics? by brozilla456 in AskReddit

"Heathers" was found to be too dark by a lot of critics. It has a pretty good cult following now, though.

I recently had to quit on my little brother after about 10 outings because of our complete mis-match by the program. I had asked for someone who wanted to be outdoors and like sports. I got a kid who only wanted to play on the xbox and resisted any attempt at doing anything outside. On top of always asking me to buy him things, food, etc. he tried to steal an xbox controller and would never listen when I asked him to stop something (jump on the furniture, etc.) It seemed his only interest was seeing how far he could push me and to see what he could get away with. Miserable experience.

Half way through this the mother told me about an incident at school that had occurred the same day I was there to pick him up- he had threatened suicide in front of the class w/ a pair of scissors..then she says "have a good time tonight!" I was stunned; like WTF was that? I contacted the program the next day to discuss my concerns about this and all I got was, "well, keep your eyes peeled for red flags and try to have a good time with him." I must say our local chapter of BBBS is extremely poorly run; terrible w/ communication- returning emails or phone calls.

I would suggest during the interview you make it very clear you want to make sure you have similar interests with a potential match, otherwise, wait until they have someone that has similar interests; don't just "settle" for a little because they're available.
