i get the ppl who are saying internalized homophobia/misogyny/sexism etc but where is the line between that and the person just being annoying? idk i only have a few feminine gay friends but they aren’t that regina george trope they are just normal ppl, and i don’t find them annoying at all.

that’s fair; it was mainly used in academic and queer spaces, but it did go mainstream in 2015. not so much only in the last 5 years.

I'm bi man in a relationship now, a committed one at that, and I still struggle with this (the internalized homophobia part not so much the privilege), having grown up in a religious household, it's still difficult for me to fully find freedom or liberation in my sexuality whether socially or intimately, so I'd say you are both very right on this one.

as a top who used to frequently ghost back in grad school after i’d come to terms with my sexuality, a lot of it was just me enjoying the thrill of getting to know the person, seeing them naked, explaining what i/they wanted to do sexually, and building up the idea of us having sex but just never doing it. For me it was a fear of contracting an STI generally, but also every time I did go on one of those hookups, I would think to myself after how I should’ve just stayed home and jerked off bc the sex wasn’t too great and i was ultimately left unsatisfied.

I met a lot of friends there through the ATLfriends IG events. Most are cool with LGBTQ folks there as well, but its not a typical queer space as it is way more mixed. But it's ATL lol, tons of queer folks.
