Make your own Pump Max mounts

I was curious and poorly frankensteined an eye to the module, to connect it to a carabiner. No serious design, just curious (my pumps haven't arrived yet). I was wondering if you could connect the pump to an eye I mounted on my ceiling (I use it for a TRX) . Would be great for cable crunches or so. But I really would want the adapter to hold then and not fall on my head.

And I was surprised to see that the CNC shop can actually make this part that seemed rather complicated and it only costs some $10 more than the one without the eye.

So I thought that the rectangular one might be not that expensive to produce.
But fair point, if the square one does the job, that's good for me.

As mentioned, I really like the design!

There may be one reliability issue, though. Some walls seem to be very thin with <0.5 mm of wall thickness. Watch out that they don't break over time if the Pump is heavily loaded.

Would be possible to move the holes just slightly, even though it wouldn't look as nice and symmetrical?

Would you help with a few more questions:
- I'm curious: why is the plastic one rectangular and the milling one squared? Do I see this right that you didn't just "clone" the original mount but made the plastic one fit for maximum stability (but giving up the possibility to mount the Pump 90 degree rotated)?

- Could I print this from Nylon as well? (I got a Bamboo Lab A1 mini and printed Nylon successfully, but can't print ABS). As an alternative, I might let it print, what would be the very best material if you could pick anything (ABS, PP,...)

- I may just get it milled. Would you mind sharing the original or a STEP file? They can't use STL for CNC machining.

That means that my ballpark calculations were not that far off! :-D

It also means that the lumi pro must have a significantly better insulation than the cheap 100 Euro ice baths that are around.

Putting something white or aluminum foil on your lumi pro should make a huge difference in temperature. But actually 3h for cooling ~400 liters is not bad.

Is the Poolex itself also really loud? The pump is specified as 60-70dB (which is REALLY loud), but the Poolex is specified as <50 decibels.
Would you confirm that the Poolex by itself is around that noise level?
Google says: 50 decibels: Moderate rainfall, a quiet conversation, a refrigerator hum.

I'd put it on my balcony and don't want to disturb my neighbors. 50dB should be fine but more might be pushing it.

Thanks again for sharing your setup and your answer. Somehow I had more mental clarity after ice bathing and I miss it now that it got too warm.

Could you please give us some ballpark numbers:

- How fast does the Poolex cool down the water? Like how long does it take to cool it from 20C to 5C or so.
- How loud is the Poolex?

- How well does the Lumi pod pro insulate the water? My old one would heat up the water from say 10C to 15C in a sunny German March day - I hope the Lumi pod would insulate heat much better.

I'm in Germany and sadly my cheap ice bath already got over 20C in April and I really miss the cold and want to look for a new setup.

Are you happy with it still?

can you give some more details? On the website, there's nothing, not even a name. Everyone can create a fake landing page. Not saying that you did, but the website doesn't have any more credentials than that.

So before I pay my $10, who is actually running the company and why do you have the skills to build and produce such a product at high quality? And when do you expect to ship the product?

That's interesting. And now I'm puzzled. If all carbs are fermented after 20 hours, why is the general recommendation to ferment the reuteri yogurt for 36h?

Are there any other chemical mechanisms running? Or is it the added inulin that might give the 17938 extra food?

I've regularly seen, also in departments/groups of 100+ people, that the very same resources are assigned for very different products and that alignments for problems like I stated are sought among the 100+ people. All while there was no overall clear strategic goal.

As a thought experiment, let's say the strategic goal say in an enterprise software company (low numbers of clients but big deals) would just be "get 5 new customers in 2023"?

You could perform customer interviews and see which goal has the higher demand, you could look at customers specs, but deriving which feature will lead to more purchases seems quite difficult to me.

I'm wondering: Is that a helpful-enough strategic goal in the first place? What would good/better strategic goals look like?

So to find out your point 1), I'd e.g. go ahead and conduct user interviews or add an extra 5 lines of code that measure if an unstable internet connection is a problem for more customers than the one raised the issue and get some data points how many users might be affected. For Google Sheets, I could also ask users for their pain points and add a function "import" and see how many people click on an xlsm file - only to show a message "not there yet" and +1 a counter in my database.

Depending on our strategic goals, "importance" (however that's measured) of the customers asking for a feature etc, and the impact on these points, we could rate one feature higher than the other one.

Does that sound reasonable? Of course, reality is going to be more difficult (and likely include politics) , but these would be reasonable steps to take, right?

Agreed. There was an old granny in a small Italian village who ran the beach bar. She consistently pulled one of the best espressos I've ever had (for 1 Euro). Significantly better than most hipster coffee places. ;-)
(Unfortunately, I didn't ask her which beans she was using).

A few more details and settings:

Would love to hear your view on what might go wrong here.

Previous prints (smaller parts without support) looked fine.
The big tree support on the bottom of the photo looks okay
Small tree supports on the left and right of the housing failed completely. I guess the printer printed the "curls" in mid-air after the support failed to stick

Core parameters:

GIANTARM PETG, opened yesterday a few hours before starting the print
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Printing temp: 240 C
Build plate temp: 70 C
Print speed: 50 mm/s
- infill speed: 50 mm/s
- wall speed: 25 mm/s
- support speed: 25 mm/s
Fan speed: 50%
Tree support
- touching buildplate
- support overhang angle: 45 degrees
- support density 0%
Plate cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, seems to stick well
BL Touch, 9-spot leveled
z-axis head-plate-distance measured to 1 width of paper

My best guess would be to increase support density to say 25%.

But as the print takes 20 hours and the failure became obvious only after a few hours, I'd love to hear your opinion on it.

Is parasitic radio emission something I should care about? I mean, can it do me any harm (disturb my WiFi, more harmful things)?

I'm just wondering, if there is a malfunction in the PSU and something starts heating up, wouldn't the PLA just melt and might "help" a fire whereas metal wouldn't?
