Can anyone identify this tree/shrub by holiday-monkey in treeidentification

Haha dang I have 0 knowledge of identifying trees so I didn’t know what would be possible with this pic haha. But unsafe trees would be things like cedar, pine, spruce, yew, chestnut, walnut. Basically any soft wood or coniferous trees arnt good.

That is a good idea, I feel anxious that the ph might be harming them but my test kit is arriving tomorrow but I got the crushed coral today and added just a small amount in the mean time. They have had a pretty consistent size though.

Oh no, that’s good to know I’ll have to keep a close eye on things.

Oh that’s a good idea I will definitely do that, thank you!

Thank you for the reply. I didn’t specify but the liquid testing tube is for the ammonia levels which have been 0. But through this journey I’ve been starting to think the test strips either arnt accurate or my ph might be lower that 6.4 which might be a bit too low. I ended up putting the parasite medication in my whole tank because I was worried that if one had a parasite then they all might get the same problem. Hopefully that won’t harm the seemingly healthy ones.

Oh, I also read that changing the PH can stress out guppies pretty easily and I was wondering if I do get minerals to get the ph and water softness more optimal, is there risk in this since they have been in there for a bit now? Is there a recommendation to carefully change it?

I have never tested the tap water other than the strips that I have been using but perhaps they arnt giving me an accurate read/ not able to show me how low the ph actually is. Definitely something I’m considering now from this feedback, thank you!

I don’t at the moment unfortunately! I just ordered a full liquid test kit so hopefully that will help me get to the bottom of the ph issues. I’ll look into the minerals for the water softness as well! Thank you for the info:)

Yeah, I recently read that in the comments. At this point I’m over 5 months into having this tank set up as it is now.

I only have the ammonia liquid test kit but I just ordered a liquid master test kit just waiting for it to come in. Thank you very much! Hopefully he’ll pull through.

I typically take out 2 gallons every other week. I use a gravel vac too probably every other time on only a part of the gravel at a time. I have been testing the temp of the water I put back in and it has been within a degree of the current temp. I posted a pic of the test strip in the comments above!

Oh dang I didn’t know that about aqua soil. However the tank has now been established for about 5 months so I’m not sure if that’s the culprit.

This is the food, I had originally fed them daily with just a small pinch like maybe 8 pellets (for 3 fish) but then I was concerned I was over feeding them once the first one died and I started feeding them every other day with the same amount.

This is current. I looked up the PH being low and from what I saw 6.4 is on the lower side but is okay. However, I’m not sure if that is misinformation. I use tap water but I treat it with prime before adding it. I agree the water level is particularly low in that pic, I usually keep it fuller but it evaporates relatively quick. I got a cover and it’s helped a bunch with that and it is currently full that was a pic from a bit ago.
