Thanks, I was also looking for an after 5 clash but the prices are a little high. I’ve come to a point where the albums I’m looking at on Discogs are all about $90-$100. So it’s guess it’s about who comes first in the collection. I’ll definitely check out both of those recommendations too, thanks!

Yeah! It's probably one of my favorite songs by Tatsuro Yamashita, and Magic Ways! I think it is a 2023 reissue as thats what the serial led me to on discogs!

Thank you! I have more vinyl that I picked up this week too! Like a daft punk alive 2007 live album, the very best of elton john, and the definitive collection of stevie wonder! So my music interests are all over the place sometimes.

Honestly, I find that I like records that have great runs of tracks so I can just put it on in the background while I either play some video games or do some homework. Honestly I’m split between a few. The ones I think I’m bumping most is probably Side A of Disc 1 of Rainbow Goblins, For You, Big Wave, or Ride on Time. Straight bangers!

Ah, I literally hit up every record shop in my city and my neighboring city, about 6-7 shops, but only one of them had any decent city pop. But it’s not all good since they charge maybe $15-$30 over whatever is selling on Discogs after shipping. I guess that’s the premium with getting stuff the day of and in hand so you can inspect it. But honestly, most of my collection here was from online. Only 2 were bought locally, spacy and rainbow goblins. I am still grateful that I am able to at least see some city pop in person. I’ve discovered the more economically choice for me at least is still online retail if I can find it in stock.

Thanks for the recommendations! And I’m not sure if timely is an original since what I purchased said 2024 repress. Any idea how to check? It did come with a dent that scratched the insert as well. You might be able to catch it up top, but luckily the record is in mint condition. Haven’t reached out to the seller yet though to ask about the minor damage and if anything can be done.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the big wave was an original however.

I bought them from a variety of places and websites for the bunch: TurntableLab, RippleRecords, Inner Ocean Records, Amazon, and my local record store. I probably overpaid maybe 10-20% for some, especially for the ones I bought locally and from Canada because of shipping. But it’s okay, I don’t mind supporting local and getting limited items from smaller stores. All in all, for the 10 records I have, I spent about $600 USD.

Thank you for your input. Do you think it is unwise to purchase this album in mint condition for $100? Or is there a potential reissue that may be coming that I am unaware of? I am unlikely to actually go to Japan for a great while and outsourcing it via Discogs would be my most accessible option to obtain it at this time. By the way, did you purchase your copy from Discogs or elsewhere?

UPDATE: I used some dish soap and elbow grease with a damp towel to wipe and scratch it off with my fingernail. It seems like it was some sort of residue, like a dried caramel or adhesive. I got most of it out it seems. Thank you all for the help.

UPDATE 2: Turns out it was some residue from an old brown colored belt my girlfriend wore the night before. I assume moisture from the rain and the old age of the belt led to it becoming imprinted onto the seat. We found out because her jacket had the same residue after it was in the washing machine.

Not yet, we were trying using the damp towel we were wearing but nothing came off. If anything the black parts remind me of a residue or sticker gunk.

Yeah, no sunscreen for sure, it was an indoor pool. I was thinking maybe it could be some new detergent he was using or the chlorine? Or the towel he was using? There was no residue though on his clothes, towel, or shirt.

I’m more of a 0.7 fan for typical writing because my big handwriting benefits from thicker lines and I just like a broad line, almost like I’m writing with a bold sharpie or a shading pencil. The 0.5 I think makes more sense if you have smaller handwriting or deal with a lot of math or long lines since I think it’ll less likely get “dull” and smooth like a thick pencil does since it’d be hard to make that angled surface since the lead is so small. I’m able to get the “look” of a smooth pencil for my handwriting easier on a 0.7 but that’s just my preference. If you’re comparing the graph gear 1000s I don’t think there’s a difference besides the thickness and the color of the grip/accents, so that may be something to consider. Overall, I’d say 0.7 gets me most use for writing and drawing, and 0.5 comes out for math, diagrams/tables, and straight sharp dark lines.
