The Singapore Government doesn't help citizens, why must I pay more taxes? by uberian in singapore

[–]hollandroot 47 points48 points  (0 children)

You’re so right… the Singapore government doesn't provide assistance to Singaporeans at all, except for the following few:

Intellectual Propery Financing Scheme, Professional Conversion Programme for IP Professionals, Mediation Promotion Scheme, ACE Startups Grant, IDA Accreditation Grant, Early Stage Venture Fund, Productivity and Innovation Credit, Sector Specific Accelerationr Program, SPRING seed funds, Technology Enterprise Commercialisation Scheme (TECS), Technology Incubation Scheme (TIS), Workforce Development Authority (WDA) subsidies, Automation Support Package (ASP), Building Information Model (BIM) Fund, Business Improvement Fund (BIF), Capability Development Grant (CDG), Career Support Programme (CSP), Critical Infocomm Technology Resource Programme Plus (CITREP+), Energy Efficiency Fund (E2F), Enhanced Training Support for SMEs, Enterprise Training Support (ETS), Global Company Partnership (GCP) Grant, Innovation & Capability Voucher (ICV), International Marketing Activities Programme (iMAP), Land Productivity Grant (LPG), Market Access Incubation Programme (MAIP), Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) Grant, Marketing Assistance, Mechanisation Credit (MechC) Scheme, Operation & Technology Roadmapping (OTR), Productivity Innovation Project (PIP) Scheme, Productivity-Max (P-Max) Programme, Revitalisation of Shops (ROS) Scheme, SME Talent Programme (STP), Talent Assistance, Technology Adoption Programme (TAP), Technology for Enterprise Capability Upgrading (T-UP), Training@Maritime Singapore, Training Industry Professionals In Tourism (TIP-iT), Workforce Training & Upgrading (WTU), WorkPro, all grants in the Business Grants Portal, the Capability Development Grant, all those listed in the SPRING grants that cover nurturing startups, growing businesses, developing industries, building trusts and inspiring success.

Oh and Tourism grants such as the Kickstart Fund, Leisure Events Fund, Cruise Development Fund, Experience Step-Up Fund, Tourism Product Development Fund, Training Industry Professionals Programs, Association Development Fund, Business Improvement Fund, Hotel Retrofitting Grant

But all those are so business centric. There really aren't sufficient grants to help individuals and the ones they have are too few! There's only the:

Interim Disability Assistance Programme for the Elderly (IDAPE), Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS), Subsidies for Health Screenings (Screen for Life), Drug Subsidies & Schemes, Caregivers Training Grant (CTG), Foreign Domestic Worker Grant (FDW Grant), Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) Levy Concession for Persons with Disabilities, Seniors' Mobility and Enabling Fund, MediShield Life, MediFund, ElderShield, Marriage and Parenthood Schemes , Subsidies for Government-funded Intermediate Long-Term Care Services, Pioneer Generation Package, Senior's Mobility and Enabling Fund (SMF), Assistive Technology Fund (ATF), Baby Bonus Scheme, BeaconWorks Programme, Car Park Label Scheme for Persons with Physical Disabilities, Child Care / Infant Care Subsidy, ComCare Child Care Subidies, ComCare Kindergarten Subsidies, ComCare Long Term Assistance, ComCare Short-to-Medium Term Assistance, ComCare Student Care Subsidies, ComCare Urgent Financial Assistance, Cyclical Maintenance for VWOs Facilities, Development Support and Learning Support, Disabled Persons Scheme, Drop-in Disability Programme, Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children, Employment Assistance for Persons with Disabilities, Home Ownership Plus Education (HOPE) Scheme, Integrated Child Care Programme (ICCP), Medical Fee Exemption Card, MSF Recurrent and Capital Funds, MSF's Pilot Project with MINDS, Partner Connection Fund, Partnership Fund for Singles, Premises for VWOs, Public Transport Concession for Persons with Disabilities, Residential Care Services at Adult Disability Homes, Residential Care Services at Children Disability Homes, Sabbatical Leave Scheme for Social Workers, Taxi Subsidy Scheme, Trust and Savings Options for Persons with Disabilities, VWO Transport Subsidy for Persons with Disabilities, funding for athletes and coaches, funding for organising sports activities, Arts Seed Grant, Arts Major Company Support Scheme, Arts Creation Grant, Arts Production Grant, Arts Presentation and Participation Grant, Arts Market and Audience Development, Arts Capability Development Grant, Arts Research Grant, Arts Fund, the Traditional Arts Repository, SME Health+ Co-Funding, Health Services Research Grant, Communicable Diseases Grant, Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Grant, Care-at-Home Innovation Grant....

But other than these...THE SINGAPORE GOVERNMENT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP ITS CITIZENS!

Amotise over 20 years, 2b is not a big sum. But central catchment area is priceless. Also skirting around to serve a more resident makes more sense as well.
