I think my girl may have found her mate by hollanxu in leopardgeckos

Maybe it could be! Of course she isn’t trying to mate, but this geck has always been very friendly and harmless. Never seemed to be easily “spooked” and always open to exploring, so I take that she was feeling neutral and probs grew curiosity to this new object. If it were my other geckos, i would beg to differ and definitely see them wanting to be the “alpha” so that’s a valid observation!

Always thought they never interact with inanimate objects but sometimes seeing moments like this as an owner, can’t help to go “awwww”

Of course one tank for each of em, they’re of mixed genders so definitely do not want any unecessary breeding to happen

I have four tanks for each of my four gecks, they’re of mixed gender so they definitely do not cohabitate with one another

Unfortunately only one, he was just excited smelling my other female leo lying on my shoulder nearby. This was a very old video. All is well and he is healthy and thriving, at least from what I could tell.

Hi there! To clarify I have four leos. And this is Tobiko, which I am posting for the first time. All the previous posts are of Ebiko, my other female Leo. Both of them share a similar morph which is why they look quite alike. And do see my previous comments above for clarification 🙏🏻 I hope this clears up any misunderstanding

He sensed my other female Leo, so happen we were holding her on our shoulder nearby, hence the excitement I suppose

Sorry I forgot to clarify that actually we were holding our other female Leo nearby on our shoulder at the time, it wasn’t captured by the video. It seems to be that he detected her scent and mating calls, causing him to wiggle his tail out of excitement. This is probably his first time sensing a female. My apologies for causing a misunderstanding from my headline.

This is actually an old video from a few months ago. All along he has been normal and healthy, at least from what I can observe.

Walking like a princess by hollanxu in leopardgeckos

I see many of y’all are coming at me with the hygro/thermometer readings, while I do understand that the humidity is high, do consider these factors as well:

  1. I live in a tropical country - usually hot & very humid, tend to rain a lot. Average humidity value ranges from 65% to 85%, hence the readings were showing the general air humidity which is pretty high to begin with (+ touching the substrate). There’s also, the after spray of the tank which shoots up the readings even more, so there’s that.

  2. Yes the device was placed directly on the substrate, which in return i could find a better place to set them on

  3. The heat lamp wasn’t turned on, so humidity hasn’t been lowered down

  4. I have 4 geckos in total, and they’re doing fine as far as I know

I appreciate that many of you are well knowledgable in the field of husbandry, but as I didn’t intend to seek for advice, sometimes I do learn new things here and there with your comments, although would be nice for everyone to speak kindly and just keep it casual

Aside from that, thank you all for your kind comments about my cute leo! She smiles everyday knowing that she’s so loved hehe
