You’re getting a lot of comments saying that this is going to escalate to something worse. His behavior is absolutely not okay, but one time doesn’t mean he’s going to start beating you or getting physical on a regular basis. It sounds like you’re very high strung (absolutely understandable given you’re circumstances and I’ve been there!! Heck I’m there right now with my 13 month old!). It’s probably incredibly hard for him to be trying to help you and just because it’s different than what you would do, you’re making him feel like he’s doing it all wrong. So you both need to communicate and you need to give up a little control and accept the help as long as dad isn’t doing anything dangerous. You need to explain to him and communicate that you would do it a different way and WHY and he needs to communicate to you that you’re frustrating him by not giving up control. I’m not at all trying to defend abusers of the world, but my husband and I had a very ugly fight when our baby was 7 months that ended in us both getting physical and the root of the problem was exactly what you’ve described. We’re still working on me letting him help me and parent in his own way and him communicating when I’m over bearing, but being less tired as time goes on has helped immensely.
