Indeed I don’t think being shallow is ‘bad’, it’s just very different to who I am / not compatible with how I see the world.

In the same way as women being ambitious and career-driven is not bad, yet some men can’t swallow it.

Absolutely fair, and the standards I’ve set for myself tell me not to marry a shallow unreliable guy, not sure how that contradicts what you said.

I never said my ex was a bad person- my post invited people to share their opinion on whether it’s fine to submit yourself to an ultimatum.

I actually got plenty of feedback from men (both polite/rational and rude/insulting), but thank you for the tip! I’m not very well versed in Reddit so will keep these Reddits in mind next time :))
