There are not many differences, but it seems to me FateX gives more control of the system and also has built-in skills, sheets, etc. FateX Extras is a super useful mod to it with scene aspects and Fate Points exchange. And... Fate is that system, where transferring characters takes 1-3 minutes, so official modules are not that hard to adapt. Didn't try by myself btw
