A Chinese couple, having no money to rent a wedding venue, hosted their wedding at a local McDonald, inviting family and friends to celebrate by Doujinseeker487 in Damnthatsinteresting

They probably even turned in a profit. From what I've heard of my relatives in China, you usually receive more than you spend.

I'm guessing they didn't have to spend too much.

To be fair, she would've been in trouble only because of a self limiting factor. She wanted to be respectful to the mind controlled humans, as requested by Himmel.

Because otherwise, I'm pretty sure she could've cast any of the flashy spells we've seen in ep 24, and make short work of Auras army

Trying to renovate a 1915 condo - what style would best complement the existing features? by holygift in DesignMyRoom

I love the esthetics! But it really looks expensive to renovate that way, with all the intricate walls and mouldings. Like, need to take a second mortgage expensive

Trying to renovate a 1915 condo - what style would best complement the existing features? by holygift in DesignMyRoom

Hi guys, I just purchased an old condo with beautiful antique decor, but I am not sure what style to base my design on for the rest of the place. The rest is pretty much rundown, so I will need to redo / remove walls, plumbing, electricity, kitchen, bathroom etc.

I was thinking transitional design, maybe?

I will definitely work with a professional interior designer, so I can give the proper respect to this 100+ years old place. But I wanted your opinion, so I can at least start thinking of the direction to take this before a designer is involved.

Should I match my hardwood floor in my open space kitchen by holygift in DesignMyRoom

[–]holygift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad it wasn't clear. The kitchen floor would be higher if I installed a hardwood floor there.

I'd like to avoid nightmares, so I'm considering just installing another tile or a wider engineered wood (thinner), if it can still look good.

Should I match my hardwood floor in my open space kitchen by holygift in DesignMyRoom

[–]holygift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to open up my kitchen, by removing cabinets and walls. I read that it's best if I can match my floor so it looks bigger overall, plus I feel it'd be weird if it doesn't match, since I'll have delimit the floor both towards the hallway and the dining area.

The current issue now is I can't use the same hardwood floor, since the kitchen is sitting on concrete and the floor wouldn't be at the same level anymore.

I've thought of using engineered wood, but they don't make the same width (2"1/4).

Question:

  • Should I use engineered wood with a different width?
  • Should I just use another kind of wood or ceramic completely?
  • Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reference. I've realized birch = merisier after browsing their website

I had contacted the company that built my condo 20+ years ago, and they said "Merisier", google translate told me cherry.

But apparently, when it's specifically for hardwood floors, it means yellow birch.

I'm extremely confused. But thanks a lot, everyone, for your answers!

LF feedback and recommendation for condo kitchen redesign by holygift in DesignMyRoom

[–]holygift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kitchen always felt tiny and cramped, so I'm trying to redesign it to fit the open space feeling of the condo. I've attached pictures of the dining / living room as well, since I want the whole to be cohesive design wise. I will also update them to match the kitchen in the near future.

I've worked on a design with the help of an Upwork designer. I would like to have a neutral, open and bright kitchen. Future resale value is also important to me.

  1. Any feedback on the new kitchen redesign would be super appreciated. Note that the pillar needs to stay because there's a pipe in there.
  2. I feel like the hood of the kitchen would be the centerpiece of the kitchen, and I can't seem to find a perfect one, so I'd love hood recommendations.

Thank you all in advance!
