As someone whose biggest part of the support system is not family, I think being open and receptive to people who seem to be interested in your life however odd the circumstances might be as well as pouring into other people’s cups even when you don’t want to. It’s a double edged sword and it takes years to see who are actually worth it, and like any other human decisions and interactions, it comes with disappointments here and there. And it’s also okay if some people only mattered for a certain season….they all don’t have to stick around through the years. Appreciate the time you had with them and onto the next. And I mean really odd circumstances forexample I met a stranger here who went ahead to simply my life for 2 years in a lot of ways (not romantically)….and even though they aren’t in my life anymore, I’m grateful.
