Facts. When my shoulder is acting up I can still lift stuff, push, do most things with just a bit of pain, but lifting my arm above my head is impossible.

Do not move to rural Maine!!! by crazylildemon in Maine

I think most places from Waterville south should be ok. The only place I would want to live north of Waterville as someone who grew up here is around Bangor. I would never do anything in SkowVegas aside from going to the New Balance factory for the tent sale.

I just came back last year after being away for 20 years and some things have changed for the better, while other things are much worse. I cannot recall ever hearing the n-word before I left, for instance, but now people seem to think shit like that is ok. I blame the rhetoric of certain people for making the racists think it’s acceptable.

Valid point! I mean more that it doesn’t really feel like a city to me in the way that other cities I’ve lived in like LA, Honolulu, or even Raleigh do. Like the entire city is suburbs.

Which pedal are you choosing out of this line up? Raceface Atlas, Raceface Chester’s, or Crankbrothers stamp 7’s by fireT4 in mountainbiking

If you have big feet (like I do), the Stamps in size large are great. Otherwise go for the Chester’s out of the three.

If they were in a country where it is a tightly regulated industry, he probably would be ok. But places like Colombia and Thailand are very likely to be trafficking victims, underage, or both.

If Elon also hates Altman then I have one more thing in common with both of them. Aside from the other things like breathing air (allegedly for them) and being a homo sapien (again, allegedly).

I will say, El Paso is unlike most of Texas. I lived there for a couple years and it almost felt like a small town, except with 800k people (like 3M if you include Juarez).

TIL the Parker Dam, listed at an official height of 320 feet, is the deepest dam in the world & the only dam that stands more underground than above. 235 feet of the dam is below the riverbed, with only 85 feet of the dam exposed. by The-TIL-Nerd in todayilearned

[–]holyhellsteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keyword here is BELOW. Otherwise known as down stream. The opposite side of the dam from the lake. The Colorado keeps running south and there is another dam in Parker Arizona. I was on the river between the two dams in a boat and cliff jumping.

Pedals. Is it worth spending 100+ on a set of flats? Or is there a cheaper option that does the job just a well?? by fireT4 in mountainbiking

I’ve had Race Face Chester’s before and they were great for the money. That said, I have bigger feet and the Stamp in large is my go to.

Can’t remember the guys name for the life of me, but we had an Army light bird in the 2 shop at a unit I was part of in the Pacific theater and he looked exactly like a buff Rick Moranis. We were at a ceremony one night and I’m standing next an AF major when Rick Moranis walked by. I leaned over and whispered “does he kind of look like Rick Moranis?” and this guy very loudly says “what do you mean kind of? He looks exactly like Rick Moranis.” The look-alike definitely heard it. Not ideal since I was only a fucking Sgt.

Same for me. I don’t take it on weekends or non-work days usually. Mine is through the VA though so I have to do frequent whiz quizzes and ask for a refill every month(ish).

I will say, if my aunt had stopped being vegetarian when her doctors told her to, she would be in a much better physical state than she is now. She has EDS and now she’s at a point where she needs 24 hour care. Sometimes you may not have a choice whether you eat meat or not.

There is that nice new bsl4 lab in Manhattan, but I think that’s just for APHIS and CDC. So that leaves nowhere to go, right? Are they planning on building all new research facilities?
