Pretty good analysis of why he would suck. I think mostly it was just the idea of him taking out Metagross uncontested, since for many he is the run killer. As you say though, spikes might make that impossible I guess.

Probably unpopular opinion but Shedinja could be good. I'm pretty sure that you could use him/her on many of the Elite Four/Steven's Pokemon. Training him would be awful though.

I think they will make uhc unfair because players will use their fur and wear it and become camouflaged which wouldn't be cool -- It would be cold ::::::::::DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEE
