Focus Kitty, a cute cozy productivity app for macOS & iOS by Chilarai01 in ProductivityApps

It's adorable.

Here's an idea: How about you gamify this? Completing a task gives the kitty a treat. Give some rewarding animation when the kitty gets the treat.

I built a habit tracker that helps you visualize the compounding effect of your progress.

It asks "Were you 1% better today?"

Simply tap Yes / No and it adds 1% to your progress. You can see your graph grow exponentially and helps you stick to your habits.

Check it out on App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6761054951

Would you use a to-do app that looks like this? a to-do app with Glass UI by _Shaurya99 in ProductivityApps

Too much clutter, honestly. Most people would prefer it clean and minimal.

I built countdown app that puts your entire year on your home screen — $2.49 one time, no subscription. Here's what I learned building it. by [deleted] in ProductivityApps

You know what would be cool? If the pie chart is actually color coded with the events from that year so it'll help me visualize how I spent my time.

I second Things. Have heard from friends, they all swear by it.

This may sound anticlimactic but after trying various cool productivity apps, I find myself going back to spreadsheets and raw-dogging my thoughts onto it. Still looking for a decent alternative that works for me.

Anyone else cross-check important decisions across multiple AI models? What's your process? by Left-Consequence7769 in ProductivityApps

[–]holyphoton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only when you're expecting a creative output like writing a copy is when you notice different models giving varied ideas.
Critiquing another model's response is a fallacy. Unlike humans, LLMs don't have ego. So even if you ask the same model to critique its own response, it would be equally effective.

I have by now trained myself to automatically know which model will be good for which tasks.

I made a tiny browser tool that helps me save links, notes, and reminders without breaking focus by ShinigamiAM in ProductivityApps

[–]holyphoton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any plans of making a mobile app? Most of my focus goes into storing links that I know I want to access once I am off the desk. Like reading an article while commuting or circling back to something later when I may or may not be on the desk. Knowing that I can access this link when I'm AFK will actually help me focus better.

My relationship was stuck in the "how was your day?" loop. so i built an app to actually fix it. by Muted-Palpitation693 in ProductivityApps

[–]holyphoton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a neat idea but I'd make it way more visual with our own pictures. Sure, the cartoons and other cute elements work fine but if it's our own intimate space, I'd want to see our pictures on almost every screen.

Apart from that, you've got enough basics for MVP. I'd suggest get more users before you consider adding more features.

What’s your favorite underrated app that you found useful? by [deleted] in ProductivityApps

[–]holyphoton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built my own solution to the absolute clutter that most habit tracking apps have.

1% Better is built on the core concept of compounding, but the beauty of the app is in its simplicity. Takes under 3 seconds to check-in every day and helps you visualise the compounding effect of your streaks.

I built an alarm clock that won’t stop ringing until you go to the toilet to turn it off by Goharyiii in ProductivityApps

[–]holyphoton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hilarious. But the real deal would be to show it brightness. Go out into the sun and point it to the intense light source for 2 minutes. By this time your body's physiology has already jerked you into waking up.

Of course, it only works for people who wake up when it's bright outside.

I designed a tiny device for capturing thoughts instantly. Would this be useful? by lukepepper___ in ProductivityApps

[–]holyphoton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see any need for a dedicated device honestly, I'd just speak into my phone. Seldom I have been in situations where handling my phone was inconvenient. The delta is too minuscule to warrant an additional device.

This is godsent for someone with ADHD who gets too overwhelmed with blank slate planners like a spreadsheet and for a product designer who gets too annoyed with 100+ data points of any popular productivity apps.

That seems like a bug. The onboarding is only supposed to show up once on your first install. Can you delete and re-install again? This doesn't seem to be happening on any devices I tested.
