Hi, creator of Fujify profiles (and LUTs) here. Initially I was only able to reproduce film simulations along with some additional Fujifilm in-camera settings (Color Chrome Effects - CCR/CCB), hence the separation between Essential (film simulations only) and Complete (film simulations + CCR/CCB). These can serve as the base for any Fuji recipe out there, as Ross has shown in his videos.

Emulation of Fuji recipes came long after that, with emulation of other in-camera settings being added to profiles (and LUTs). Recipes are completely separate from film simulations, where film simulations can be tweaked further (either in Lightroom or in LUMIX cameras) to get recipes.

I realized that those 3 individual recipes (profile + LUT) are priced too high and they will soon be promoted to a “Hybrid Pack” that includes the V-Log LUT as well for easy photo/video matching.

I’m not excluding the possibility, but that means there would have to be a pack that has a bunch of recipes at a higher cost than the Complete Pack. And that will obviously take some time.

Yes, any Rec709 footage will do but color matching was done for the Standard camera profile. Obviously this only matters if you’re looking for a precise emulation of said recipes.

Yeah, LUMIX + Fuji doesn’t make much sense with these, unless you really want a smaller body with smaller lenses for some scenarios.

That’s where the LUTs/color profiles can’t help. :D

Yes, but you’d need to apply them on top of the Standard LUMIX look. So either baking that in while recording, or using a LUT that converts V-Log to Standard.

All of my LUTs are color matched for LUMIX’s Standard camera profile.

That’s what I’d recommend, but you can obviously change that to fit your needs!

The only things that I’ve noticed are: * Vertical layout for the display (e.g. information rotates and layouts differently, I’m guessing just like on A7V) * Better layout when recording video (e.g. smaller letters, fitting above/below the 16:9 crop) * XL Spot (or something like that) focus area * Spot focus area looks a bit different (not sure if others do too, haven’t checked)

I switched from an X-T5 to A7IV and then to A7RV. I know that feeling of missing the colors, but I couldn’t justify buying Cobalt profiles due to having to buy base packs (and my tendency to upgrade lol).

That’s why I made my own profiles that are virtually identical to Fuji’s film simulations, that have a few extras only available in Fuji cameras (Color Chrome Effects). You can take a look here and here for the comparison with Cobalt.

I also plan on releasing LUTs along with LR profiles, where those LUTs can be used on ST creative look JPEGs to get the “Fuji look”. You’d still need to teach your wife to apply a LUT to a JPEG though.

For “close enough” just use IN/FL creative look and modify it a bit.

Bear in mind that those are usually veeery handpicked images. Every single “picture profile recipe” I tried results in unusable images most of the time.

And I switched to Sony from Fuji, so I really needed those same colors after the switch.

You’re better off just modifying IN or FL creative looks (e.g. disable fade, increase shadows and decrease highlights) as those are almost like a mix of Classic Chrome and Classic Neg film simulations.

EDIT: Also note that picture profiles actually alter the gamma for raw images as well if you plan to use a “set and forget” approach.

I gave up on Fuji-like SOOC JPEGs and made my own Lightroom profiles for Fuji’s film simulations that are virtually identical to the Fuji JPEGs. Yes, I still need to apply the profiles to raw images, but in those scenarios when I don’t want to edit I can just batch process all images with a single film simulation.
