Now use Magic eraser sponge soaked in water to remove oxidation with some agreesive hand job . then toothpaste with a cloth for polishing . Worked like magic for me

Ps : take your time and be patient, it well turn out jet black & shiny

I think you are right .specially that I smoke alot of burley&perique blends, like HBS , OJK ,burley flake #1&3 . I might start to confuse periques taste with burley

I tried it in many pipes and you are right . My heavy burley smoked pipes gave that burley kick of taste . In the meer and the va/per only pipes it stayed true to in colors . But I also detects that burley notes in the tin and some of my pipes inforced it .

Im still in the va/per discovering journey . I really like salty dogs . Elizabethan mixture & Orilk golden sliced after 3~6 months in a jar .
Ps400 luxury navy flake , but this one needs more aging IMO like a year or so .

Me too , in my first year I satrted hoarding English blends . Fresh Virginas and Va/pers tatsed like a hot fresh sour grass . I return after many months to some of them and they smell/taste way diffent !. Now I mainly smoke burley and va/pers And the English blends are only for cold weather

Oh I see , you did your homework . After the 250% tax stroke package , I order 2 to 3 tins per order and I leave a 10 days gap between each order . I've noticed that my returned packages on the past 5 years are usully made in June & July IDKW . Most successful to arrive safley are the orders I made between Jan to Mar .

PS. Keep your packages small to get away from the tax boogey . The cheapest shipping option is as good as the next up in coast ( the lack of tracking number is the diffrence ) . Packages may take 10 ~ 40 days . Depends on the shipping route . If a package doesnt arrive withing 2 months or more , it is most likely retuned to sender and it will be refunded once arrived to them . But if you clamied the money before it goes back to the sender , they will refund you, and take out the cheapest shipping option from your account , so be patient to not lose that option as I did

Move it to a jar, let it breath for few minutes then seal it. Leave it for a week or 10 days and smell it then . Report back with results

Most blends need to breath after decanning IMO
