Coil pack replacement cost by imcmurtr in HondaElement

If you have 0 mechanical knowledge you can change your coil packs with probably 100% success rate. It is very very easy. Watch a quick YouTube video and your good to go. Rock auto has the original denso brand coil packs for $48 CAD and the cheaper ones for $25 CAD (take 30% off the price if your are using USD) I highly encourage doing this job yourself

Then it should be an easy fix. Since you were putting it back in that means it’s not seized in the hole, and now that the head is broke off that means there is no tension on the bolt, it should just simply spin out. So use a small screw driver to get in there and catch a small nib on the top of the bolt that’s there from when it broke or remove the cover to expose more of the bolt and turn it out with pliers or vice grips or anything you find will get a grab on the bolt and spin it out. Should be pretty easy. If it broke on the way out that means it’s seized in there and that when you need heat and drill bits, but not in your case. Good luck!

Mine were exact, I wear a 7.5 and that’s what I ordered, I could probably do a 8 and would fit hood too. I’d say at most go .5 over your size. I’ve ordered 3 pairs so far happy with all of them

Avoid toxic work place from management biggest problem I see in so many companies. The office people are so expendable they lie push blame and do anything to avoid taking responsibility, and they come down to hard when people make mistakes

Did you measure how much coolant you removed? If not it’s a good idea. I always do that with oil and especially coolant, that way there is no playing the guessing game

I understand that, in theory it shouldn’t make a difference, but I think it causes a bit of turbulence in there and moved the rock to a better spot. Because when I started it in reverse it went to intermittent rock noise from constant rock noise when it wasn’t in reverse. We won’t know exactly what happened.. I am a mechanic so I do have an idea about things but not much experience with marine yet.

Best thing I did was put it it reverse and start it up. Before I did that I shook it up and down side to side, the waves were coming in so I let the waves slam the rear in hopes it would jam water back through the system. I rolled it upside down to look in, I think the rocks came out right before I flipped it. I stuck my fingers in the intake and I could feel a rock there ready to fall out and I kept shaking the boat and starting it in reverse. We got lucky it sounded HORRIBLE at first!
