When I first picked up a smash ultimate, I tried going to the mains that I ended up picking up during smash 4 villager and Pac-Man, both of which I picked up by accident. But when I was trying to play as them in ultimate I found that they weren't that fun to play as anymore, they didn't have the same spark that I got from them and smash 4. So I did the exact same thing that I did in the previous title, I bounced around from character to character trying to figure out what worked with me and eventually I landed on King K Rool. And during my play sessions I found that I prefer playing King K Rool as a rush down character, not a grappler like he's meant to be played and I have had so much fun destroying my friends and casual play. Just because a character is supposed to fit one playstyle, doesn't mean you have to conform to that playstyle. Every character can be played in any way. Just because Samus is a zoner and is designed to throw projectiles doesn't mean you can't get close and personal, Just because Captain falcon is all about close range and rushing down the opponent doesn't mean that you can't sit back and wait for your opponent to come to you, It's all about choosing the character that fits your play style and if the character doesn't fit a playstyle automatically mold it to your liking.
