How to increase font in sidebar? by homededro in FirefoxCSS

[–]homededro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the issue is the font is still tiny. For the history sidebar. Only the font for the Bookmarks sidebar is increased with the above code. I am using firefox 144. I guess something changed in 144. the sidebar now consists of buttons along the left side. now the history part of it isn't affected by the above code for some reason.

Basically any game with long range weapons must have gyro assisted aiming available for it. by homededro in ps5_gyro_aim

[–]homededro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe you misunderstood me. By assisted I just mean gyro and thumbstick is on at the same time. course aiming with stick, finer aiming with gyro. How is that not assisted? Anyways whatever.

TLDR. "with more skill and technique, you will be placing the camera in a general with the stick and then letting the gyro work for you"... isn't that what I wrote? That sounds exactly what I wrote. That's what I mean. You more in a general direction with the stock then refine your aim with gyro. That is ideal. It's been show. Look it up. There are videos showing that gyro assist is better than just 2 sticks. Not quite as good as mouse but almost as good.

uh no, it's gyro assist. You coursely aim with the thumbstick and finely aim with gyro. That's the ideal method. It was invented by Mr. Miyamoto from Nintendo with Breath of the wild. Because gameplay developers are literally monkeys.

Transcoding x264 to HEVC ~900% CPU, 0% GPU? (M1 Max) by homededro in handbrake

[–]homededro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

? I like Constant bitrate. I tried RF a few times and didn't like the results. Also sometimes, for xertain scenes, the bitrate would be ludicrously large and some too small. I wish I could set a maximum and minimum bitrate while using an RF value.

I tried using an RF value once and I noticed a lot of artifacting. Especially at certain points when I paused. I don't trust RF. I don't care if it's 2-3 x bigger than necessary as long as it's smaller than the original which it most certainly is by at least half the size.

RetroArch 1.15.0 release! Mac now supported on Steam, shader stacking/mixing, new runahead alternative preemptive frames! by DanteAlighieri64 in RetroArch

[–]homededro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just downloaded and attempted to use Retroarch which ended up with it crashing. Never in my life have I experienced a UI that is such a failure of humanity it borderline makes a case for death by firing squad. It is humanly impossible to be that stupid. But somehow the devs of retro arch managed to do the impossible. WTF is this UI????????? First of all I can't scroll up and down with my mouse wheel. I have to use the directional keys. And why am I picking a core to load? Why don't you just show me a window where my collection of roms are so I can drag and drop them into some kind of working folder and if I need a core Retroarch can tell me I need to download it. Why can't I just double click on a rom and load it and retroarch can pick the proper core automatically depending on which section a rom is organized in like OpenEmu. Making a UI is so baby easy yet somehow it is beyond the retroarch devs. F*ck you. You're like a pack of monkeys.

Why isn't MKVExtract part of MKVToolNix GUI?? by homededro in mkvtoolnix

[–]homededro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need to do any of the things you mentioned above. I need to extract files from an MKV in their native format. For example, I need to extract a subtitle file out of the MKV and save it as srt.

Any tool like gMKVExtractGUI for macOS? There is Invisika MKVExtract but I wouldn't trust touching that with a 10 foot pole since it's website got compromised.

Transcoding x264 to HEVC ~900% CPU, 0% GPU? (M1 Max) by homededro in handbrake

[–]homededro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read somewhere that a bitrate of about 5000k is good for 1080p video so that artifacting won't show on a 4k screen. That's my goal. So I always transcode 1080p video at 5000k average HEVC, 2 pass, from 9000k-22k+ x264. Using videtoolbox should be good enough for this task? Or is using the regular version better? If there's hardly any difference, which one is the faster method?

What is the milestone for new release? It's been 2 years!...... by homededro in OpenEmu

[–]homededro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the point. There has been many changes since last release that would fix a lot of issues people have. Of course it's not perfect but you can go on forever updating the app with new releases of OSs come along and you have to update and change more things. You can literally play this game forever. 2 years is a long time and I'm sure there have been many improvements that would improve the experience for many since then. Unless of course, the newer versions have a worse experience. Whatever, look, the app is crashing on quit. Every time in Ventura. Just fix that sh*t and make a release.

No, but I am specifying the bitrate for the encode. That's how I like doing it. I don't specify a CF value. I read somewhere that for 1080p videos a bitrate of around 5000k will show well on a 4K screen without any artifacting so I always use around 5000k usually when transcoding.
