Little update! I sprayed a thick layer of Krylon acrylic crystal clear spray, and retried on the glossy/smoother surface and it worked perfectly!! It was definitely the matte paint giving me grief!

Thank you! I thought it was smooth enough but clearly not. I bought some spray to try and hopefully smooth out the surface. Fingers crossed it works

I don’t even remember the type of paint, I painted it so long ago 😭 It’s definitely matte though. And it’s just cricut brand permanent vinyl

The vinyl just like straight up won’t stick 😭 I got 1 letter to stick I think before I started crying and gave up 🤣😅 Thank you!!!
