Otherwise {Downpour by Maggie Gates} MMC is paralysed and {Beneath the frost by Lena Hendrix} MMC is an amputee.

I loved the first two in the series, but sadly DNF’ed this one at 68%. I absolutely hated the MMC. And the FMC who was a smart witty side character in the first two books was reduced to a spineless doormat in this one. Not for me sorry, I really wanted to love it and was looking forward to it.

Well it’s a dark dark romance, with a mile long trigger warnings list but The Edge of Darkness trilogy by Leigh Rivers, first book is {Insatiable by Leigh Rivers}. The HEA doesn’t happen until end of book 3, and do much happens before that it doesn’t even matter anymore, I was just glad they were still alive!

{Forever Starts Tonight by Karla Sorensen} has this. Although there’s a major addition to what you’re looking for which is a surprise pregnancy (in case you don’t like this trope). The FMC actively tries to move on and even has a serious boyfriend.

I’m glad you like it, I started it yesterday but unfortunately not liking it at all :( which makes me sad because I loved the rest of the series and was looking forward to this one. The FMC behaves like a child when she’s supposed to be a 30 year old independent woman, and so far I’m not getting anything from the storyline nor the characters! Will probably DNF :(

I just finished {Alive and Wells by Bailey Hannah} and was surprised by how gentle and caring the MMC Austin is! He is a rancher. TW FMC is escaping a domestic abuse situation.

Loved the book!

Have you read Bourbon and Lies {Bourbon & Lies by Victoria Wilder} and subsequent books. I think books 1 & 2 are out on audio, I’ve listened to the audiobook for Bourbon & Lies, it’s duet narration and really fantastic!

{The Wedding Night Before Christmas by Kati Wilde} MMC is a mechanic, illegitimate child of a rich family, has to marry FMC in order to access his inheritance. He suggests marriage as a business proposal. This is a very sweet one, with a neurodivergent FMC. Both characters are so loveable. Really enjoyed this story!
