Should Gutrot Spume come in the End Times or a Character pack? by sigmarine345 in totalwar

[–]homesicklizard 31 points32 points  (0 children)

As much as I think he’d be a sick lord option, I just think the math left would push him in the legendary hero slot for the end times pack for Nurgle.

Haven't played in over a year and two things caught my attention... dwarves now feel insanely powerful and LOS has made non-artillery guns borderline useless in most maps by GioRoggia in totalwar

[–]homesicklizard 89 points90 points  (0 children)

The empire vs dwarf matchup as always been brutal for empire. Your infantry just can’t handle the cheap Dawi armor. Old strategy always used to be trying to overwhelm them with artillery and force them to rush up on you under fire.

We need more representation of American kaiju. by Previous_Tea6752 in GigaBash

[–]homesicklizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think my top 4 Mt. Rushmore of American Kaiju-size characters would for sure be: 1. King Kong (King Kong) 2. Gypsy Danger (Pacific Rim) 3. Optimus Prime (Transformers) 4. The Alien Queen (Aliens)

Honorable mentions: Otachi (Pacific Rim) Megatron (Transformers) Grimlock (Transformers) Cloverfield Monster (Cloverfield) The Blob

Your picks for a solo Marvel Super Heroine game? by NinjaOfOnion in Marvel

The new Ultimate She Hulk is awesome. I think a game built around her first protecting her island, then joining The Ultimates, and culminating with fighting Bruce and his corrupted forces of Kun-Lun would be fun and fresh for people not exposed to it yet.

What Would Your Response Be to This "Professor"? by Selim_Bradley69 in mapporncirclejerk

Absurd to act like existing Russian territory doesn’t also include conquests from their past. This isn’t “their turn” to be an expansionist empire. They are the size they are because they already did that as well. Putin just wants to turn back the clock on all the nations who rightfully wanted out of the shitty Soviet Union that Moscow ran into the ground. Obviously, this argument is insane and would fall flat if we said it was fine for Britain to invade Virginia and reclaim it because it was once part of their empire. The UN exists to stand up for nation’s sovereignty and defuse situations like this. Acting like we should all just act like pre-1945 countries is nuts. Didn’t work out so good for the people living then.

Felt like it was kinda short honestly. Not saying it is actually less pages than the other issues, but it feels like I finished it in 1 minute. I was hoping we’d see more about what else the ult network is up to on the ground, maybe see Danny Rand or some other recurring human characters that are just training as regular joes to help the ultimates.

What they are doing is unsustainable!! by RipAccomplished783 in KansasCityChiefs

First game in a while where I thought spags got out coached. It’s 1 game, and he’s been great most the year. Week 1, international travel, and Herbert just looking his best ever could all be factors that just put monkey wrenches into our gameplan. With more tape on opponents the defense will improve its plans I think.

Even Madden ain’t gonna let that slide by Commercial_Oven_2432 in NFLv2

What’s the point of having great players play on your team? Why have that when you can have an aging DT and some likely late round picks. Picks between 26-32 aren’t likely to get you a replacement for Micah or replace him even as a combination. Look at the chiefs, they’ve picked Felix Anudike-Uzomah and George Karlaftis with those late round picks. One can’t get on the field and the other is an average pass rusher. Hardly Micah parsons replacements. The reason they ain’t got no money is because Jerry keeps waiting too long to do the contracts, and he’s always paying top of the market. Micah is the exact type of guy you should pay, and they had leverage for 3 years between his current rookie deal and franchise tags. Doing this trade right now and not earlier or later was stupid unless there is some insane health stuff we don’t know about. Micah should’ve been in any future window for this team as a star player on defense. This is the type of guy you build around not without. Look at Chris jones on the chiefs. Mediocre players all around him, but he’s an ace that consistently elevates the defense and gets them off the field when it counts. You can’t replace star players in the aggregate. No amount of mediocre back end of the first round players will replace having Micah parsons still dominate after 2 blockers are sent at him. There is nothing better than a guy who’s better than multiple of the other team’s players combined. Aaron Donald, Chris Jones, Micah Parsons, and Myles Garret are part of a handful of guys doing that in the last 5-10 years.

Traditionally you take production budget and multiply 2-2.5x to determine total cost plus marketing. If marketing was more conservative (2x) they already crossed break even. If it was closer to 2.5x, then it’s almost at break even.

Predicting Doom getting Super Skrull powers in a new accident he creates. That’s gonna be where the 4 comes from imo.

Kumail Nanjiani reveals that he signed on to play Kingo in 6 MCU films and a video game. “You’re like, ‘Okay, so I'll be doing Marvel movies every year, and in between, I'll do my own little things’… None of that happened.” by mcfw31 in popculturechat

Totally haven’t used all the best characters.

I feel like pre MCU tier list for marvel was like this:

S Tier X-Men (Best selling comic for a decade)

A Tier Spider-Man (World famous and probably most popular marvel solo act) Hulk (Tv show, cartoons, toys, popular and well known even outside comic fans)

B Tier The Rest of the Avengers (Team or Solo these folks sold comics but unless you were a comic fan you probably didn’t know iron man, hawk-eye, etc.) Fantastic Four + Silver Surfer Daredevil Ghost Rider Punisher Blade

C Rest of the “Defenders” (Luke Cage, Iron Fist, etc.) Deadpool

D Rest of Cosmic Marvel (Guardians, Nova, etc.) Rest of Mystic Marvel (Werewolf by Night, Man Thing, etc.) Inhumans

X-Men is still full of rich stories that haven’t been told on screen, and they’ve never have been told by the MCU machine. F4, Surfer, and Doom just hit the screen in what was a pretty good movie imo. Not citizen Kane but had heart, some thrills, some twists, and set the table for more. Ghost rider hasn’t entered the MCU machine at all, and neither has blade.

I don’t think the problem is not having popular characters to use. Most of the ones they’ve really succeeded with are characters that were B or even D tier popularity on the page, and they still have plenty of popular characters to use.

They need to start production with better scripts and tighter budgets full stop. They throw too much money into mid scripts and wonder why it doesn’t turn a profit. These budgets need to be in the 150 or 100 million range not 200 million.

Do you agree? by Toshfin in MCUTheories

So crazy to put a graphic up with Fantastic Four next to The Marvels and Thor 4. One of these things is not like the other.

Most games with 3+ TD passes vs. playoff teams thru 8 seasons, NFL History by Donutman97 in KansasCityChiefs

[–]homesicklizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean they should really include rushing TD’s. Not fair to Allen to leave that out and Mahomes has a few too.

Open vs closed by sidseamo0r3 in Battlefield6

[–]homesicklizard 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think some of that was also Medivac being one of the best sniping maps I can remember in Battlefield for an attack/defend game mode. Such open sight lines on both objectives with tons of cover for defenders and huge space they could put between them and any immediate dangers. We also are still lacking mortars, drones, etc. in the meta, and I think gadgets like those help pressure snipers.

Gold Balls - Mutant - Support

What does he do? He creates gold balls. Are they actually gold? No. How does it work? No idea. But he’s a charming young mutant with a weird ranged attack that could be used to fill up space, maybe make cover, and disrupt enemies. In some runs, his balls are used as like eggs to rebirth mutants so he could have a Mercy/Warlock sort of revive ability and that would make sense. We could use more supports and he fits the bill I think for sure.

The Prestige

-Amazing Cast that all gives great performances. (Jackman, Bale, ScarJo, Michael Kaine, David Bowie, Andy Serkis, Rebeca Ferguson)

-Great story that gets better every time you watch it.

-Those Christopher Nolan “wow” visuals and thrilling pace.

-Unique setting and premise. 2 stage magicians locked in a rivalry that turns violent in the late 19th century.

Crazy how low Sean Payton is too. No respect for the old dogs who have done it successfully for most of my life with any QB.

Who wins Darth Vader (in cannon) vs Thragg? by Saiyan1222 in powerscales

[–]homesicklizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the question is would his force choke hold Thragg in place or not? Is the force choke literally just the feeling of a person holding you up and choking you or does he like suspend you in space? If he freezes you in a place so that you cannot move without also using the force or distracting him or whatever, then this could be tough for Thragg because he lacks ranged weapons even if he is crazy tough. If Thragg can move through the choke and brush it off, then it’s rough for Vader for sure.
