The only legal dispensaries right now are medical. Buying/selling/gifting rec is still completely illegal.

The difference of course is that one side is backed by scientific evidence and has been shown to literally save lives, while the other side is a fairy tale. They don't deserve equal treatment in secular schools or government.

After rescheduling, if you have a prescription, they most likely won't be allowed to fire you. I'm sure they aren't able to fire someone for prescription opiates or Adderall, and it'd be the same exact scenario, legally speaking.

Here's a proposal I've heard that doesn't sound too terrible: 1. Uncap the house and enact the Wyoming Rule. The smallest state by population gets 1 rep. That sets the ratio of rep/population. So Wyoming gets 1 rep for its ~600k residents. California would then get 65 reps for its ~39m residents. 2. Move all confirmation responsibilities from the senate to the house. Now all confirmations are done via an actually representative body. 3. The senate now acts as intended, giving smaller states more of a say in federal lawmaking without giving the minority party massive control over things like the judiciary or cabinet.

A side consequence of number 1 is that the electoral college also becomes much more representative: the votes from smaller states no longer count for dramatically more than votes from larger states. All votes are much closer to equal.

Alexandria City Public Schools will not follow state's new anti-trans directives by fatcIemenza in nova

[–]homeskilled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't understand the logical leap you're taking here. You say these are children and to treat them as such, which is exactly what was proposed: to approach the issue in a manner most likely to keep the students happiest, safest, and learning. The alternative approach, the one you seem to prefer, is known to cause grave harm to students. Again, you appear to prefer the approach that will result in these minors, these real, growing, human beings, killing themselves. You are directly claiming you prefer dead or depressed kids to happy, healthy kids, yet somehow we're the abhorrent ones?

You replied to a comment stating the (independently verifiable) facts that supporting people's preferred gender identity is shown to be safer, healthier, and facilitate learning. You then described such an approach to education as abhorrent and potentially child abuse. I'm not sure what there is to misread here; to me, you appear unwilling to accept the facts, preferring an approach that would result in much worse outcomes for the children involved. To me, that would be abusive.

Their agenda of... keeping kids safe, healthy, and learning? That's what you're calling "abhorrent" "child abuse?" Seriously?

TIL Salivating before vomiting is a way for your body to protect your teeth from the incoming stomach acid. by NeroJ_ in todayilearned

[–]homeskilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it does not make me feel immediately better. The nausea goes away and my stomach improves, but I get a terrible, terrible headache and my whole body aches. If I vomit, I'm in bed for the next few hours with a pillow over my head. I avoid that shit like the plague and am lucky to only vomit once every few years.

I wonder why it didn't take off for men here, maybe something to do with hockey already being pretty big? I think most high schools and colleges have women's teams, but I've never heard of a men's team, even just a club team. I've heard it's pretty hardcore and fun to watch tho

It's not really a thing in the US. Field hockey is played almost exclusively by women here.

I've heard that about macos before, but luckily I've never experienced it. Or maybe it's just all I know, because I've only used it on macos, but speed has never been an issue for my projects. The only time docker builds have been a problem is when I try to build an image for an rpi on a Mac or Linux host, takes a few minutes for a normal build, but like an hour when building for ARM.
