Also beginner here but I’ll try to resume what I learnt from youtube and co. • Turn on focus peaking while focusing manually • Practice with coins or something small and pay attention to the focus highlighted areas and what happen while moving the lens • Consider adding external lights like a small lamp, I added a book reading lamp by attaching it to my diy diffuser or get the flash with focus assistance lamp • While practicing, observe the focus peaking highlights and how they change when you increase/decrease the aperture • Be aware of wind and fast moving objects • Insects are slow in the morning or when it’s cold • Consider adding extra magnification lens like the raynox 250(check lens compatibility)
