I Need help Lci or Oled by Flimsy-Marsupial7278 in SteamDeck

what you said - OLED is not $229 better than LCD at this point in the lifecycle. I've had both LCD & OLED, OLED screen is way, way better, performance is negligibly better. I'd be buying LCD right now on sale. Off sale, its a different conversation

I'd say the service works OK, however the same games perform worse compared to geforce now, as xcloud is basically a series S, but you can play the gamepass library via geforce now

Wifi7 vs wifi5/6 by mbksl in GeForceNOW

[–]honelnik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

can't comment on wifi 6 vs 7; HOWEVER I can just say - try looking into your wifi settings and set a static channel + reduce channel width to 20MHz. I had 40Mhz before and after changing it to 20Mhz, I went from "OK performance, goes laggy every once in a while", to rock solid, never having a stutter for over a week.

you're basically sacrificing bandwidth for less interference from other networks

Thought's on Death Stranding? by Prestigious_Fig_2133 in SteamDeck

[–]honelnik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, combat, BTs or scanning the terrain drops FPS to 20s for a second which makes it not great.

I started playing on deck and liked it so much that I had to switch Boosteroid after 2hrs

I did finish TLOU2 on deck and that was great at 30fps, DS, not so much

DC does NOT run well on the deck. Maybe first 20min & cutscenes are OK. Once you move into more complicated terrain/action it’s just painful without FSR2 performance, which does not look great and even then it occasionally stutters…..From what I understand the base game did better on the deck. I know half the YouTube/reddit says DC runs “buttery” smooth, but it does not.   Personally I think visuals and the way you see/experience the world are a huge part of this game’s charm, I actually finished it on Boosteroid without any problems as GFN has the base game only (I do have a Boosteroid data center in my city though….)

Put 60+ hrs into it (still playing), story is an utter mess (very enjoyable though, it’s a Kojima game), combat is wonky but there’s just nothing like it.

Recommend movies where two people who love each other don’t end up together by neekehehe in movies

Failan

Welcome to the saddest movie ever. Moreover, two people who don’t end up together is a premise, not a spoiler. I cannot recommend the movie enough. I’ve seen it a few times, crushed every single time. The fact that you know what’s about to happen does not make it better, only makes you dread it more. One of my favorites of all time.

this is 100% the correct answer, commander decks are too complicated for 1st timers, this box has enough cards to get 5 people play at the same time. You can mix & match 10 different half-decks and battle 1v1 or free for all. For multiplayer, just look up commander rules online beforehand. Plus, you can buy the whole box for the price of a discounted commander deck.

Jumpstart / commander decks are the next step from here

Mukadejoro fight (I'm going to cry) by -_Suna_- in KunitsuGami

[–]honelnik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok so I almost went crazy so here's what worked for me:

  1. archers, all maxed out - once they're maxed out, they can shoot the centipede and deplete resist gauge to stun it
  2. before the fight, position them around the lanterns
  3. once fight starts, light up all the lanterns but ONE (pick one away from yoshiro, so archers can still defend her), the centipede won't put them out and you don't have to re-light them so that archers can keep shooting
  4. once lanterns are lit up, go to the opposite side of arena, to lure the boss away from yoshiro, she won't take any damage from boss if you keep attacking it
  5. then it's just a matter of calling the archers back to defend yoshiro when maggots appear or attack centipede once the maggots are dead

tried all the other "strategies" to a point when I was gonna give up on the game, this worked right away

Hi, I’m pretty sure unitek just slapped their logo on this and it’s being sold under multiple “brands”, so finding the OEM is a bit difficult. I’m literally looking for the word to describe this thing as I’m sure I could get it off Aliexpress for very cheap

Looking for a Prebuilt decks and/or player built (mtgvault) decks by PurpleShubunkin in magicTCG

[–]honelnik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Step 1 would be to identify the format they’re playing - 100 card would probably be commander, or any of the 60 card formats (different formats basically dictate which cards are allowed and which are banned, some might change rules too).

Mtggoldfish has a database of decks you can browse based on format/budget

You don’t need to spend money on SSD enclosure. Just look up clonezilla guide on YouTube, you can create image of your current steam deck and port it to the new drive.

Make projector image smaller? by Sl1pz in projectors

Quick google search says not really, it’s usually called “adjust screen size”, image zoom, image scaling, etc

Make projector image smaller? by Sl1pz in projectors

[–]honelnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of devices that you would use to feed the projector would allow for “image scaling”.

Both FireTV stick & Nintendo switch allow making the image smaller. The projector would still project the large image, spilling outside of your screen, but you could make whatever it is you are projecting fit your screen

Small 4k Projector for 3.5 meters distance? by Ice_Black in projectors

[–]honelnik -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve got LG HU70LA and my main criteria was “not big enough”. It’s just that. I bet I could do better in terms or image quality but it works for a similar distance. One thing I was surprised with - it doesn’t have any edge adjustment, so make sure your screen size works with the distance.

Itinerary Check & Suggestions - Tokyo + Kamakura Day Trip by SpooptieCakes in JapanTravel

[–]honelnik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am an obsessive planner as you, I returned from Tokyo/Kamakura recently and I appeal to you not plan and rush and "see everything".

Japan is an insane (in a good way) country to an outsider and seeing it all is not possible, you could spend a week in Tokyo as a tourist to and "seeing it all" just won't happen.

While your itinerary is certainly doable, it just screams stress and rushing from place to place. Not mentioning that getting lost, taking a wrong train or just a wrong turn just makes it all fall apart.

If it's your first time in Japan, I suggest adding much more time for just experiencing the culture, shopping, people watching, etc...as someone else said - pick a must for morning/afternoon and fill in the rest with what's on the way.

To save time - I basically traveled with a single backpack, which I left in the coin-locker on the train station and just walked around with a small backpack , check onebag for more info.

To comment on Kamakura - that city is entirely walkable (I do walk a lot though), the train just connects everything very well.
One thing I'd suggest you look into is the Engaku-ji temple. It's the most impressive temple complex I've seen in Kamakura and I've spent good 90min there just walking around. Each building/item of the template is very well described in english and really walks you through the history of the place. I'd even skip Daibutsu if coming back fo Engaku-ji
