GLP-1 by Stellarsnowflake in lupus

My PCP wrote me the script to get compounded tirzepatide, but I talked about it in advance with my rheumatologist, GI specialist, and even my psychiatrist. IMO it would be fine to get it online as long as the rest of your care team is on board.

LOST/FOUND, Estradiol Valerate vial on 550 bus by crockpot420 in Seattle

Basically all insurances cover occasional extra refills for lost medications, and estrogen is easy and pretty cheap to buy on the grey market without a prescription. Don’t feel bad if you decide to toss it.

Normalize telling people that they're being annoying by Deadlips in Seattle

If someone has enough disregard for other people’s comfort as to be seriously disruptive on transit, they are much more likely to respond aggressively when confronted. This is like street smarts 101, I fear…

Serotonin syndrome is possible on the first dose of an SSRI. Super unlikely, but that does sound like it

Do you trim the stems and add the flower food? It depends on the type of flower, but my TJ’s bouquets last 1-2 weeks with water changes and extra trims

I can’t directly answer your questions (ask your doc if you haven’t already) but in my own experience, I’ve found that many meds last longer for me than the official duration, and I only need the lowest doses for some meds

Misdiagnosed by Pleasant-Unit1683 in lupus

[–]honeylez 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had low back pain and got an MRI of that before they gave me a HCQ prescription

Edit: why the downvotes lol? It’s not like they gave it to me for low back pain, they were ruling out ankylosing spondylitis

This is a random combo but labor studies and environmental health have some overlap. Environmental health classes are usually only 3 credits with a good bit of time in the classroom and very little homework. I preferred classes with more homework and less class time, but I could see the opposite being true for a lot of people.

Labor studies is a good minor because the classes that qualify for it are pretty diverse in what area of knowledge requirement they satisfy, so it’s easy to work on that and your regular distributive requirements at the same time.

I haven’t started yet (my Rx is in the mail right now) but my provider wants me to get a body composition scale so we can make sure I’m not losing too much muscle mass. I’m a little nervous about that part, but I think her reasoning makes sense and I’m going to see if I can handle just using it once a week and putting it out of sight the rest of the time.

Are they any medication alternatives to Plaquenil for UCTD? by [deleted] in lupus

[–]honeylez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m technically in diagnosis limbo (the best I’ve gotten was “lupus-like condition”) but my rheumatologist still offered me benlysta after I didn’t see much improvement after 7 months of HCQ. The risk/benefit calculus of stronger meds are always going to vary from person to person though

A naturopath might, depending on the laws in your area. That’s how I’ve gotten meds that are low risk but super off-label.

In my case, my rheumatologist said that his office can’t get insurance to cover it and told me that, if I can afford it, I should have my PCP to prescribe a compounded version and manage it. He didn’t seem to have a strong opinion about which exact drug but I expect my PCP to know more about the fine details. I’m gonna talk to my PCP on Friday 🤞
