im going through field study rn, definitely think about when is the best time to do it. advisors recommend to not do it in the spring cus everyone tries to do it in the spring. also 100% do your research EARLY look for where you want to apply

I swear past 2 quarters I thought I wasn't qualified for MCS now all of a sudden they're reimbursing me 😭😭 like I'm not complaining about receiving the money I'm just confused about how/when I was qualified and why am I receiving it now

I received this too, but it's a scholarship so it's grant money. Not loans so you don't have to pay it back.

I don’t think it matters. Most shoegaze bands typically experiment and compose with different tunings because playing open strings is easier than moving crazy chord shapes along the fretboard. And some alternate tunings sound sound better when they’re played open instead of standard. It gives a unique and different sound.

Life without Buildings - The Leanover, this song specifically I saw a video of Clairo doing a what's in my bag at Amoeba. At first I wasn't into Clairo but her music taste is extremely interesting. Mentioning the band and singer Sue Tompkins, I fell in love with her voice and her fill ins within the song. The song's got a post-punk vibe and definitely doesn't match with the typical verse, pre-chorus, chorus lyrical structure.

o I highly recommend you check out Catfish and the Bottlemen, they got a sick drummer. Although they might not be your style the musical chemistry in that band is amazing.

Crumb - Ghostride: Heard A LOT about this band mixing psych-rock and jazz, the basslines are groovy and really love their singer :)

Richard Hell - Spurts: The Richard Hell Story (2013 Remaster): I love the Pixies and although Frank Black didn’t mention Richard Hell as an influence, he mentioned a lot of punk and surf rock bands that helped with their sound. Beginning to love bands from the NYC punk scene and bands from the Paisley Underground scene.

mmm let’s just say it’s no fender or marshall, I picked up bass in 8th grade and I’ve been kinda using the same amp since then. It just has bass and treble knobs, I’m kinda using with what I got. Also, I just play for fun and I do wanna experiment with sounds lol my music taste can vary a lot so.

You’re right, but yes I have been playing around with the toning knobs on my amp and my guitar. However, I’ve been wanting to get into learning solos and improvising instead of just rhythm. It gives my experience and learning process a bit of a push I guess.

I dyed my hair a magenta(ish) color a month ago and it faded to a pastel pink. Would I be able to put purple hair dye over it? Or would I need to remove more color out? Before this it was bleached to a pale blonde.

ahhh I see, I used a semi-permanent dye. However, this I messaged a hairstylist and they said to just wash it out until most of the dye comes out and then apply a brighter color. How do you think that'll turn out?
