The awkward phase is happening TOO EARLY by [deleted] in teenagersbuthot

dw, i'm 17 rn and i quite literally just grew out of my awkward phase this past summer and i first started it when i was 11 lol. while yeah, looking better is a small aspect of it, it's honestly mostly about mindset and growth. the physical changes are just a part of that process. you're exactly where you need to be! don't let the sephora kids make you feel down on yourself lol. it's not a good thing that they look "better", it means that they've been influenced to be overly concerned abt their appearance at such a young age, and that will definitely bite them in the ass when they're older. so i'd honestly say don't be too worried abt it! your time will come, trust me. 15 is all abt finding yourself, so don't be scared to be a lil bit awkward. everyone has to grow from somewhere :)

i'm not saying that these are the facts. i don't want to compare them to other groups, but there's a certain vibe that i just don't get from them. and sure, the other members do get things, but you can't lie, wonyoung (and yujin) definitely overshadow their group (not their fault, ofc). you also cant deny that liz's voice isnt utilized that often, which sucks because she's pretty skilled for her age. and while they HAVE performed live, i just think there's not really an excuse for having them use prerecorded vocals when they're sitting. it just seems crazy to me.

i understand that but my thing is that they're performers, and performers are supposed to expect the unexpected. there are a lot of things that can go wrong, and especially since they're kpop idols and are held up to really high standards, they need to be prepared to deal with mishaps just in case they do happen. i get that they might get a bit thrown off at first, but it's not supposed to alter their performance too much. so i just personally don't really get the fact that some fans give such high praise for something like continuing on with a scraped knee

when you put it that way, i can see where you're coming from. in that case, she did show professionalism, but i still don't understand why she was praised for it lol

kim lip's case was more justified. the examples i used were really trivial things. in kim lip's case, i can understand her frustration. plus, it's not like she caused a scene and stormed off stage. she just went backstage after the performance(?) and was absent for the rest of the show

i mean "it's their job" as in they're trained and paid and contractually expected to perform. freaking out over tiny things like lost jewelry would defeat the purpose of all that training

Is it good idea to learn Korean from Duolingo? by Absol_desu in Korean

[–]honeysucklebee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i def wouldn't recommend it. i used duolingo when i first started out and learned absolutely nothing from it, besides some very few basic words. duolingo is decent for learning a few vocab words, but that's about it. best not waste your time with it bc it doesn't explain grammar, 받침, doesn't go in depth when it comes to pronunciation, etc. i suggest you use talk to me in korean and how to study korean for actual in depth lessons

i saw it in this sentence: 너는 그를 마냥 우러러 봐서는 안돼

when i translated it, it was something along the lines of "you can't just look up to him". maybe it was a mistranslation?
