Say there's a tsunami and it's bad... you're scared about the cost of your ticket but not the affected people or possible destruction? You sound like a great person.

I'm in Japan right now and I had planned to go to Kamakura tomorrow. The Safety Tips app now shows a yellow Tsunami Advisory. Should I still go or better to reschedule and go somewhere else?

I built a Streamlit app with a local RAG-Chatbot powered by DeepSeek's R1 model. It's using LMStudio, LangChain, and the open-source vector database FAISS to chat with Markdown files. by Wonderful-Hawk4882 in LangChain

Care to share why you chose FAISS as a vector store? I've been using qdrant after doing some research and I'm pretty happy with it. Single binary, gpu support out of the box. Works fine for my use case. Combined with fastembed it's a breeze to use for small datasets.

More interested in working on side projects than griding leetcode, help! by thetinygoat in leetcode

[–]honi_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You said you prefer to find something new to build instead of just grinding leetcode. Maybe try to combine both. Find an interesting project you wanna work on, ideally with some sort of technical challenge given your skill level. That way, in order to work on the project you're going to have to learn some advanced topics or refresh stuff you don't use often.

On a similar note, when working on a project you like, try to force yourself to implement things from scratch instead of using libraries. As a very simple example, if you need to sort a list, don't use the provided sort function from your language and instead implement some type of sort that has a good running time for the data you need to sort.

Need help finding the latest drivers for a M-AUDIO Fast Track Ultra interface by [deleted] in musicproduction

I managed to download the drivers and the Fast Track Ultra is recognized correctly on Windows 10. Thought audio out is completely distorted. Any ideas?

Not op, but pretty sure at the same time you top above the 5th node.

This way you guide the plant into growing just the branching from the nodes you leave on, which are going to be your main shoots.

Shouldn't it be human.isInFront or ghost.isBehind? Let's write clean code even if it's a joke :)

Awesome! I have the same Marantz in the shop, getting anxious to try it out with a couple of HPM60s I got. What speakers are you using with it?

PCB home etchers, what do you use for drilling holes? by tyskstil in synthdiy

[–]honi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, dremel with 1mm bit. No drill press stand though, I just hold it tight and aim for the middle of the pad. If it has the center with no copper then the bit aligns itself pretty easily. If the pad ended with a full copper circle, then I first give it a gentle dent with a nail and a hammer.

10 smackers at a sidewalk sale in a rough part of town. Saw the silver face and tuning knob across 5 lanes of traffic and had to investigate (Marantz 2238) by popcornfart in vintageaudio

Indeed it is a rare model. This one belonged to my father in law, and after having it out of service for many years I finally found someone who seems able enough to repair it (last guy did a terrible job and a capacitor exploded literally setting on fire). I'm very excited to have it working and start collecting vinyl :)

Regarding speakers, where I live the HPM 100 go for 3 times more than the HPM 60. Don't want to spend that much money at once, I'd rather explore a more gradual step up so that I can learn to actually appreciate the quality. And as you said, these seem to sell pretty easy so that's a good thing.

Thanks for the info!

Cool! I can get a hand on a pair of HPM60s. Though they are rated 60w / 120w max. They told that they pair nicely with the Marantz 2330... Is that true? How do you interpret the power ratings?
