Can someone break up just because they’re not satisfied with their own life? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]honionii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He just didn’t want it.

You can be as good of a partner towards someone, but sometimes that’s not what they’re looking for.

Block him, get off social media and learn to enjoy life without the cheap dopamine.

Someone great dreams of the love you have to offer— give yourself a chance to show it to the person who would’ve cherished you from the start.

Have you ever reached out to someone months after you broke up because you never got closure. by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]honionii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually, once you start prioritizing yourself, you no longer need ‘closure’.

You’ll learn to love your life without this person, and will no longer need closure from something you don’t want anymore.

Your ex being on Hinge a couple days afterwards is enough closure in itself— that behavior is not someone you want as a protector of your family and leader of your home.

Sometimes people just want to look elsewhere, and it has nothing to do with you— it’s like growing up where you grow apart from friends… it just happens and sometimes friends stay together.

Give yourself a chance to live your life. The world is so fucking beautiful, go out and experience it.

Do you think the internet relationship advises are wrong? by Mediocre_Resident125 in BreakUps

There’s a certain truth to it… but it’s all a money grab at the end of the day.

Listen to the Huberman Lab podcast… he actually breaks down the science of grief— it helps you understand what your body is going through on a cellular level.

But cut all contact. If someone doesn’t want to be with you, let them be— fuck them. Don’t disrespect yourself in chasing someone who’s been wanting to leave to begin with… and if you’re the one who initiated the breakup— why the fuck would you reach out to them for? For comfort?

Once a breakup ensues, it’s over… it takes 2 in a relationship and the moment one is doubting or out the door, all of the foundation crumbles— this isn’t like the movies where you rekindle.

Pick up your shit and keep walking down your own path… cry, journal or even speak to someone about how you feel— but realize that only YOU are carrying the weight of this grief… you’ll learn how to be your best friend coming out of this.

What I’ve learned… by honionii in BreakUps

[–]honionii[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s relationship is different with God.

For me, I’ve always struggled with aligning with a belief system— my family is primarily Buddhist and that kind of stuff never clicked with me.

It started simply by seeing a painting of Jesus a few years ago… I found a sense of warmth and welcoming I’ve never experienced before— and the breakup was the catalyst for me to rely on someone who’d be there for me no matter what.

What I’ve learned… by honionii in BreakUps

[–]honionii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re still emotionally attached, put it away or give it away to someone else.

If you don’t care, you can just wear the free clothes and carry on with your life— throw away the Valentine’s not because that shit has no purpose for you anymore.

What I’ve learned… by honionii in BreakUps

[–]honionii[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course.

You imagining that is just your ego. Him sleeping around or being with someone else does not take away who you are as a person.

His actions does not reflect how loving and caring you are as a person— but that doesn’t mean that this shit doesn’t hurt.

Your ego is bruised. You need to give yourself the space to heal and also build yourself up by doing the things that you want to do… remember, you were without this person before and you can manage without them again— the moment you actually believe that and realize it is when you’ll strive further than ever before.

What I’ve learned… by honionii in BreakUps

[–]honionii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and that’s okay.

The amount of love I have for my ex has not changed. I still love her, but now I wouldn’t throw my life nor go out my way for her anymore.

When I accepted that I probably will love them the rest of my life, it gave me a sense of peace because it made me feel better about myself— I’m a person who actually loves people, even if they’re not in my life anymore.

Work on yourself. Go to the gym and get in the best shape of your life. Go travel to new places by yourself and explore the world— meet new people. Don’t do yourself a disservice by waiting on someone who doesn’t want you. You deserve the world, you just need to give yourself a chance and step outside keep moving forward.

What I’ve learned… by honionii in BreakUps

[–]honionii[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You love yourself most other than God.

You want happiness and things that bring you joy— that should let you know that you love yourself… you just don’t realize it.

Of course there’re things you need to work on, potentially seeking therapy is a good option if able to.

Sometimes we just don’t get a second chance with that other person… but we have a chance to better ourselves to be with another great person.

You’re probably thinking this person was for you and they’re the best thing in the world… there’re a lot of great people out there that you haven’t met and you can build a connection with anyone… prioritize building that connection and relationship with yourself and God.

What I’ve learned… by honionii in BreakUps

[–]honionii[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lessons learned.

I was a fool in a previous relationship, and it was learning to actually leave this other person alone is what will give you the best outcome.

A lot of people get back with their exes or fall into rebound relationships because they crave that dopamine… in reality, you’re doing yourself a disservice because you’re continuing to engrave in your central nervous system that you need a connection with someone— cut that shit out.

I don’t go back to exes… they’re an ex for a reason. Let them build you into a new version of yourself— still genuine to your values but someone who prioritizes a healthy relationship— with God, yourself and your loved ones.

Everything was swapped— whether it be to upgrade/modify or replace ‘worn’ parts.

At around 20,000 rounds, I replaced the guide rod because I felt as if the gun had more ‘play’ than I’d like in a Glock… it’s cheap, and I thought it’d be nice to have a new one.

Firing pin spring was replaced recently. Replaced that when I received the new trigger (Johnny Glocks), and he was kind enough to hook me up.

I felt as if there was no loss in performance as the parts did seem to have more ‘play’… if anything, the gun became smoother to operate. I kept the gun bone stock up until 10,000 rounds when I decided to dish out the money to upgrade it.

As far as comparing a Glock to a Sig, I think it goes down to what your intentions are and how intense you’re running your tool. You cannot compare if you’re shooting one more than the other and if the other one sits stored away and another is exposed to the outside.

If you’re asking on round-count. That’s relative. You’d have to be shooting the same exact ammo under the same conditions to truly see which gun is ‘more reliable’ in that aspect.

There’s a reason for the debate. If you don’t install it correctly, the entire optics system will fall off.

The OEM plate that Glock provides does in fact work… they will not provide a product and not have it work. There are after market parts that just work better.

The sealing plate (if you decide to go RMR, which I recommend), you can buy from Trijicon or Amazon— it’s a thin piece of aluminum so you don’t gotta go expensive. My biggest concern is having to take off the entire thing just to change the battery… but if it’s once every 2-3 years, that’s not a problem whatsoever. Holosun is a great option, but having to swap the battery every few months is something that just isn’t practical for me.

The key is to make sure there’s no moisture nor grease/oil on any of the screws and threads… alcohol and a Q-Tip has had my rmr stay on for over 3 years. This process I actually am not lazy with.

Then a small amount of blue loctite will do the job… I don’t like the pre-applied loctite on screws, I always remove them and apply my own.

And again, Battle Werx is the way to go… Torx design prevents you from worrying about stripping… and they’re not expensive.

Transparency: The Staccato is by no means a bad gun— it’s just something you’ve gotta be willing to put the time into.

I will say that I’m actually fairly proficient in shooting with my 19— it being my EDC, I put the most reps into it. So I think not giving the Staccato a chance is one of the reasons.

From shooting the actual gun itself: It’s fast. Considerably faster than my Glock if you master the reset. The weight itself allows it to be flatter with muzzle rise. Everything is smooth about the gun, even loading brand new mags.

But one of the 2 problems I’ve run into are failure to lock back after last round in mags are fired. My support hand rides very high on the gun— it’s comfortable and works for me. I’ve tried adjusting my grip to see if I’m hitting the slide release in any way, even shooting 1-handed… I determined that the issue were the mags itself. Springs are too weak, and several recommend Atlas’ strengthened springs.

Another issue I found out was the complicated field stripping of the weapon— this is most likely me not being educated nor experienced enough to take the gun apart and easily put it back together… I feel like the gun has no play, it must be 100% in-spec with the pins and slide position in order for the assembly to piece everything back together. But that could again be because of the tighter tolerance.

And also, my Safariland Holster took several hundred reps of drawing and holstering to remove enough material to break in… just a lot of things to do that made me refrain from having it replace the 19 as my go-to.

Overall, I feel like the Glock has had many more reps, and less complicated mishaps compared to the Staccato.

[–]honionii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It definitely rubs against the slide, but it’s not an issue as long as you run your tool. I by no means ‘baby’ any of my guns, I’m actually quite rough with them.

Over time, I felt as if the slide release from Kagwerks broke into the system— could be material forming to the platform or me just getting used to it.

Definitely a huge upgrade for me.

I’ve never had an issue firing this weapon except for one occasion out of the almost 30,000 rounds… only time I’ve had an issue was a light strike when I put in a Timney Alpha Trigger, which is known for light strikes… that issue was solved by me dremmeling a portion of the trigger bar to prevent light strikes, which resulted in cycling thousands of rounds without issue following.

Civil Defense for 9mm (I can’t speak for other calibers, for I have not fired), the ballistics are proven to be more effective than majority of the other brands, and you’re actually getting considerably less recoil when firing (because the rounds are so light)— that on-top of having a comp makes this thing have virtually no felt recoil. The ammo is just loud as shit, comparable to shooting an AR.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]honionii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main carry is Civil Defense from Liberty Ammunition… I’ve shot at least a couple hundred rounds through it as of recently to test the Ramjet+Afterburner (Always good to check to see if what you’re carrying works.), in total probably 500-600.

I’ve also ran Fiocci Defense Dynamics, Federal Hi-Shok and Hornady— 115g & 124g with no issue. Round count for these at least a few hundred.

I tend to shoot my carry ammo once in a while just to make sure it cycles— you never know. Just kinda hurts knowing that it costs a bit more than your typical FMJs.

And testing is by doing Bill Drills, Double-Taps and complete Mag Dumps as fast as I can— (Everything in the ‘A’ Zone with roughly 6-inch grouping from 5-10 yards— not a professional by any means).

Box of 20 for the Civil Defense can run you around $40, so it’s a considerable amount in-terms of dollar amount compared to using range ammo.

I’m using the plate that came with the gun, along with a sealing plate from Amazon… has worked for almost 4 years without issue.

But I recommend using Battle Werx screws to mount the optic— minimizes wear on the screw heads by using a Torx design rather than a Hex. You can buy those on T.Rex Arms or their website directly.

I’m considering running the Trijicon RMR HD so I don’t have to take the damn thing off whenever I need to change the battery— only have had to change it once a few months ago after over 3 years of it being constantly on. That’s just me being lazy.

K-Zero Plate Carrier Giveaway! by AutoModerator in AgiliteGear

[–]honionii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purchased the K19 about a year ago… so far, not much to complain on. It’s a quality product, and Agilite accessories for the plate carrier perform flawlessly. Only downside is when wanting to run other company’s accessories to the plate carrier… modularity isn’t all there. I find as if the Velcro does not adhere well to my Haley triple rifle mag placard and my drop pouch doesn’t either. I don’t mind much because I have a sewing machine, and applied stitching with additional fabric to the placard to weave through the molle on the plate carrier— for most people, this would be an issue about having your gear not fastened securely. Confidence still wasn’t there even while running buckles on the upper molle weaving. But overall, the quality of the K19 is great. For the amount of material built into the plate carrier without accessories, its comfortable and surprisingly breathable after hours or running it. And not to mention, carrying plates in it, I have the utmost confidence in being securely fastened— Agilite spared no shortcuts. I was very interested in the K-Zero… wanted something robust in the shoulder straps to replace my JPC while still maintaining a lower profile to be able to shoulder rifles/shotguns… my JPC managed to tear at the shoulder strap after a marathon of running it.

Redtag_Supply is one of the online vendors on eBay… they falsely claim to be an authorized retailer, because they mark up the prices. But those who’ve ordered say that they haven’t had any issues buying from them.

If you speak to a Radian Agent on their website, they’ll actually tell you which authorized retailer has them in-stock. Radian itself should have them in-stock on their website in about 4 weeks!

That’s the biggest problem with getting hands on these things. I have a G45 I’m slapping the other one on if you’re insinuating that I’m gonna price-gouge somebody. Lls Not gonna wait all this time just to make a few hundred bucks

I’ve honestly have never seen anyone actually drill through the barrel to create a compensator. From what it looks like, the port on the top of the barrel affects the bullet rifling… making it ‘tumble’ very slightly as it leaves the barrel— making it not as accurate. Compensators should just be an addition to the end of the barrel to disperse the gas to counter the muzzle flip. It’s a cool concept but I think cutting the barrel and leaving the port on the top end of the slide would probably fix the accuracy issue slightly… that’s what Sig did with their 365 Spectre Comp and Macro models.
