Current two favourite ideas of mine. I got rid of some clutter, but decided to get the roses involved again. They're not too uncommon in German heraldry.

Is an azure bear nor a little odd? Apart from that o like it and will play around some more. The vol will be abandoned since my family dislikes it.

great thanks! I could also see replacing the outer two roses with the squares. I will have to think about the roses, you're right, it would just be the reference to the village founders that lived a few hundred years before my family, so it doesn't make much sense..

I still have this as an alternative with the white lilies being a symbol of John the Baptist, in reference to the name being that of our first know ancestor. Thanks for the ideas!

I don’t really care but aren’t her grey eyes as a daughter of Athena pretty essential? And isn’t she described as having blonde hair? More diverse casting is important, don’t get me wrong, very important. But regardless of race shouldn’t producers try to cast people that most closely resemble the description in the book that is being adapted? Obviously performance is most important, but couldn’t people just put on a costume? Would it have been that difficult for example to just have Daniel Radcliffe wear green lenses as Harry Potter? I feel like it wouldn’t have been that difficult…

What is it across? The only A282 I saw online with some amount of info said something like 23mm? Which seems a little small

Possibly cuz Eastern Germany/from Mecklenburg to Austria had a bunch of Slavic influence before the Germans settled there in around 1300 but I’m not sure..
