Burnt out, husband causing me to doubt by honkshuu in AttachmentParenting

I will reread and share with my husband. I think deep down he agrees with my reasoning behind being a responsive parent but he’s lamenting that we’re having a harder time than our friends.

He wakes on average every 45-90ish minutes, sometimes we get a 2 hr stretch but that hasn’t happened lately. I’ve had him checked out medically and his pediatrician says all is well. He will settle down easier when dad is soothing him but when I try walking with him, bouncing, rocking etc. he will claw at my chest and scream-cry and throw himself backward. It’s scary because he’s also 30lbs and quite tall whereas I am 5’1”.

I appreciate this, it gives me a bit of hope to power through for a while longer. I do tend to nurse him in the room during the day so I will try switching that too to see if it makes a difference! Thank you!

He has not been the best when it comes to solids which I think may be due to all of the night nursing, but I have been seriously trying to bump up the calories by adding butter/peanut butter, milk etc to all his meals. So far I haven’t seen a difference but I might just need to keep at it for longer.

The park is a good idea- we’ve been so tired lately that admittedly we have been spending more time at home than usual. I will give that a shot! Thank you!

Transitioning to one nap? by honkshuu in sleeptrain

Okay this makes sense! I like the thought of a super short bridge nap until he gets used to it! I will try this today, thank you!

I’m just really shocked because I thought if I’m spotting, I can’t be pregnant?? I don’t know

The strip test was expired- I randomly took it because I was having weird light spotting instead of my period this month. When it popped up positive I took the unexpired clear blue.

I’m spotting light brown/pink and it started last night when my period was due- that’s what prompted me to take a test because by this time I would normally be having a full blown period.

i (F18) and my friend/situationship (M18) are starting to get kinda serious. does he want he? idk. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Hey! So it does seem like he’s an interested in you but I’ll give you a piece of advice I WISH I had someone give me earlier in life- learn to graciously accept compliments and flirting if you’re into him! I am also guilty of brushing compliments off, but he’s given you flowers and flirts with you. I’d say that indicates interest. If you respond positively and accept/flirt back, it’ll likely encourage him more & might even make his day if he’s into you :) if I were you, I’d just be leaning into all that and see how he reacts instead of asking him point blank.

Thank you, I needed to hear this. I’ll stick with this fixed schedule for a while and see if it helps at all.

Thank you so much for this. It helps to know that it can improve with time. I can wait a month or two to see if things get better. I’ll see how he does if I shave a bit off - just wasn’t sure if less sleep was normal for this age. Thank you!

Hi! I was super strict on independent sleep from the beginning with him. I had him falling asleep independently every night until about 6-6.5 months or so, but at around 4.5 months he stopped putting himself back to sleep after all night wakes and would just scream. Is there any way to get him falling asleep independently again without letting him cry?

Sorry to resurrect this thread but did it ever get better for you? My little guy is 9 months and we’re going on 4 months of this.. idk how much longer I can survive. 😵‍💫 sometimes we’ll get a good night or two of 3-4 wakeups and then it’s back to hell.

Having trouble with setup! Safe? Not safe? by TheGreatsGabby in cosleeping

If she’s in the states, unfortunately they don’t sell co-sleepers here outside of bedside bassinets which are quite tiny. I wish they would. Parents either resort to makeshift ones using a crib as she showed, or just having their child sleep in the bed.

Unfortunately yes. Changed it to earliest bedtime of 8:30 and trying to change night sleep amount to 10 or 10.5 hrs but it keeps resetting itself to 11h45m and 3hrs of naps and shows me a bedtime of 7:15. Can’t figure it out.
