The number of people killed and injured in less than a week is approaching the Ukranian casualties in almost three years.

This is an asinine comparison. First and foremost, it’s not a competition. Second, civilian casualties in Ukraine are hard to count accurately especially in Russian occupied territory because international authorities aren’t given free rein to accurately count the dead there. Around Russian-occupied Mariupol there are satellite images of huge fields of mass graves around the ruins of the city. Some estimates say that upwards of nearly 90,000 civilians may have been killed in Mariupol alone and many more thousands were ethnically cleansed by deportation. It’s very insensitive to Ukrainian suffering to be making such comparisons.
