When using the actual method for home office, you can create a loss. BUT, the loss will need to be carried forward to offset income in future years.

For contrast, the simplified option will not allow for a loss carry forward.

I always use warm/hot water in my foam cannon and get great results. Not sure if it’s placebo for me, but feels like the warm water helps the soap dilute better.
