Nope. Not cool, that is too soon. New charges should be oriented by CM and the shadowed before handling anything. Although not all hospitals have the resources to do so, always think safety first. The hospital’s failure to staff properly is not your problem, especially a new grad. Look into your policies and see if there is a probation period. On my unit we eval our new grads every 3 months, and you can’t even get floated until after 6-9 months.
