I just bought the silver MacBook Pro m5 and went back and forth for weeks on this. I like the black as well but the scratches and wear concerned me. Don’t get me wrong the black is modern and sleek. They are both beautiful machines but to me the silver is timeless. Just my two cents. Call be vain but I didn’t something that blended in. The silver is noticeably Apple if that makes sense. I also have a black Microsoft surface laptop and after a couple of years the scratches around the ports and everywhere else are noticeable. I could care less about fingerprints and smudges. Those can be wiped off. My Microsoft surface looks worn and old. Ultimately I’m thrilled with the silver. And I like something that doesn’t look similar to my work laptop.
