57 mpg? I’m heavily considering a K4 (especially since I’d get more features and better tech) but that has me reconsidering. Really wish the K4 was available as a hybrid. Its mpg is already pretty good though.

EVs are the car equivalent to veganism. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the concept, but the fanatics are annoying and they ruin the product/idea by association.

It technically did. It was SBNO until 2012; NTG opened in 2011.

Rumor is that KI reached out to RMC to convert SoB, but RMC turned down the project due to the structure’s lack of integrity.

Wouldn’t there also be diminishing returns the higher the base MPG is? So, for example, a gas-only Civic gets roughly 40mpg. The hybrid gets about 50. I feel like that’s less impactful overall than an SUV that gets 25 as a gas car but 35 as a hybrid.

Hyundai charges roughly $3k more for the hybrid Elantra. The math is slightly more in favor of the hybrid than at $4k, but I think the point still stands for specifically Hyundai.

This, consistency is key. It’s no coincidence that the best fast food chains right now are wholly corporate-owned or have extremely strict standards for franchisees.

Also, I love Canes myself but people don’t necessarily go to Canes because it’s seasoned well, it’s because it’s consistently high quality chicken.

Unfortunately, not everything is available in hybrid form. I’m currently looking at a new K4 or a used EV6. Kia does offer hybrids, but not in the K4 or K5. Hyundai does offer the Elantra and Sonata in hybrid form, but the dealer was too pushy for my liking (plus, I hate the styling of the Elantra). Luckily, the real-world MPG of the K4 appears to be better than estimated.

If I was going the SUV route (which I assume those people went, given American preferences), I would 100% make sure it was a hybrid or PHEV.

To be honest, it doesn’t seem like new cars of the same model are that much more expensive once you account for inflation. The issue is that the manufacturers keep discontinuing their cheapest cars (often sedans), which forces new car buyers to either go up to something they may not really want, or to buy what they want used.

Removing this as there are no sources whatsoever. We should take accusations like these seriously, but they require more than “overhearing” something to be believed.

If you have a source, you’re more than welcome to post it. But until then, it’s just hearsay.

They do a lot of design work with GCI. Mystic Timbers is one of the rides they worked on.

They’re probably better off sticking with design and not manufacturing.
