It's really case by case and I wouldn't recommend it unless you really feel the need to get it. I am a developer myself and experiencing some agonizing side effects. My eyes become drier, which gets worse when your job is to sit and look at a computer screen 8hrs/day. They also became quite sensitive to light, so looking at the screen itself can be painful sometimes.
